I was going to go to this, as I went last year and got to meet RVD and Ernie Hudson in a hotel bar, but a couple of things kept me from heading there this year. First was Carrie Fisher's cancellation, leaving the Star Wars contingent pretty flat. I know it was the big Batman year this year, but the friends I'd have gone with are members of the local 501st Legion and I'm not helping to set up their booth promoting dressing up like a stormtrooper without also going to see *some* kind of decent Star Wars guest heh. Secondly, an idea to have a surprise party for one of my friends cropped up and so I got tied into that.
We're the middle children of history...no purpose or place. We have no Great War, no Great Depression. Our great war, our defining crucible, is a spiritual war.
I saw the movie this past weekend (for 2.50). And I'm going back this weekend for a replay of that and to see Matrix 2. I guess I was the only one who thought that Magneto's escape was one of the best parts of the movie.
