One repackage stands out in my mind: Gunn and Palumbo. I can't help but laugh every single time they come on. Call me twelve, call me an idiot but there's something funny about wearing ridiculous pink headbands and acting like complete jackasses. It's only a matter of time until Stasiak joins up with Gunn and Palumbo, I mean look at 'em they stole his tights!

Also, I'll be interested to see the Macho Man Randy Savage's return to wrestling as he (hopefully, keep your fingers crossed, I am) faces Jeff Jarrett live on pay pe view for the WWA Championship. Be there, Febuary 24th, live in Vegas. OH YEAH!

Anyone wanna' place bets on when we'll see the return of Nash or Page? For Page I'm betting the rumble, and supposedly he's face. Believe it or not.

Jerry Jones: So what's it gona' be Deion? Fifteen, or twenty?
Deion: I'll take both!
ME: PRIMETIME!

I say DDP is the day after the Rumble, and Nash returns in the Rumble, and reclaims the "Diesel push" as his own.

You say "repackage" and MEAN IT and don't squeeze in a Val Venis joke? C'MON

I guess you can call Gunn/Palumbo's gimmick change a success, if only that the *writers* are intersted in it.

I know Justin and Mike might beat me up if they ever show up, but X-Factor Albert was a perfectly FINE character and it's not that Dancin' Albert is that much better, it's just (for a while) that the writers actually were intersted enough in Dancin' Albert to have him do things.

The writers REALLY must love all the things they can do with Chuck and Billy, since they're the ones getting slots on RAW and Smackdown (and Scotty and Albert are now limited to Heat.)

Savage's return will probably not be very pretty. Dude lost whatever he had left when he had the last knee surgery.

Page seems like "Royal Rumble surprise" to me, Nash will surely be in before that.

Will they be managed by "Adorable" Adrian Adonis? Maybe Golddust? Heck, I'll even take Jim Cornette!

maybe it's just me, but unlike CRZ, I never got the "Gay" vibe from gunn-palumbo and when they first opened their mouths, i thought they were a parody of the "Dude, where's my car?" guys [jessie & chester?]

Since Gunn and Palumbo are going to be tagging now, there is still one important question that needs to be adressed.

Are they faces or are they heels? I'd rather them be heels, namely so they can cheat at every turn and go super snotty at people. I'm talking snottiness on the level of the West Hollywood Blondes. That would so rule. And in the process, a new face team would have to rise up and try and make them eat their words. Hey, it might make the tag division interesting again.

You can't have the gay guys be bad, because you would incur the wrath of G.L.A.D.D. for stereotyping homosexuals as evil.

Yeah, but how do you get a 'gay' tag team over as babyfaces considering the mob mentality of the pro-wrestling audience isn't exactly what you'd call PC.

Besides, it's not exactly overt homosexuality. You have two men with bleach blond hair who love their own looks, wear red tights, borrow Stacy Keibler's hairspray and enjoy each other's company. Does it imply homosexuality? Depends on your point of view. And as long as that ambiguity is there, they can be heels and it not necesarily be gay-bashing.

Depends -- remember, Lenny & Lodi made Out magazine's Out 100 list for 1999, which honored "the remarkable accomplishments of 100 gay, lesbian, and transgender individuals who, along with fourteen straight allies, have led their community in accomplishments." Sure, they were fabulous fun-time heels, but they WERE heels.

See for yourself.

The Abiguously Gay Bodydonas

ROTFLMAO!! good one, Brewski!

And I'm with BF. Lenny and Lodi were one of the biggest heat draws in WCW as I remember that summer run they had before standards and practices at Time/AOL decided that it was unacceptable to portray *gay* men in world of professional wrestling. I mean--IMAGINE that?!?! Gay men, in tights, sweating, grabbing, wrestling each other?!?! NEVER!!!

I only know that I can change; everything else just stays the same.

Actually, he did reign in Goldudst after GLADD threatened him. But then again, the original incarnation of Goldie was waaaaay out there. Hitting on Razor, feeling up other wrestlers, giving Ahmed 'mouth to mouth', though he did have my favorite one-liner for Vince.

If they ally with the right people and feud with the right others, it won't make much difference in this day and age. (That's not to say that they won't have people yelling "Twinkie" and a lot worse at them, of course. But if (let's say) Austin or the Rock is being stomped flat and the Partners in Pink run in to save him, even the rednecks will cheer them on.)

So far, it's been as subtle as a billboard overlooking Central Park, but it's been through actions and mannerisms, not outright declaration. As long as it remains at that level, even a lot of potential bigots will view them as light humor.

I'm thinking the Out magazine list was maybe a bit heel-friendly, though.

I mean, Satan was on there.

For his role in South Park: The Movie, where he was a fairly sympathetic character, but he's still pretty much the ultimate heel.

I heard that Mike Sanders did a good gay voice and they were actually going to make him start using it. Maybe they will bring him up and add him to the group. I can't believe i'm bringing this up cause i'm a huge Sanders mark and doing a gay gimmick ends your career, but he IS better than Billy and Palumbo on the mic, and he WOULD be a good mouthpiece. Sanders, Billy, Palumbo, Stasiak, it might just work.

Although wearing pink doesn't necessarily make them gay. Cause Starbursts made pink acceptable for guys!
