Other than 2 Carlsons & a Hanson playing the Hanson Brothers (As in the original -- that's only right.) & one Willie O'Ree reference, within 30 seconds, it becomes quite clear that this is A Bad Thing. Stephen Baldwin is not Paul Newman. And things just go downhill from there.
The original was 1977. Waiting 25 years is not sufficient to excuse this mess.
This has got to be the most hideous sequel attempt of a good movie, ever. There have been awful sequels of bad movies, & mediocre to bad sequels of good movies. But "Slapshot" was very good, & this is horribly pathetic! | Promote this thread! | | It's False

But as far as bad sequels go, there may be a new challenger next week when we get National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2 on NBC. Good grief!

Having just seen Dumb and Dumberer, I will also put it in the horrible category (Hell, it was worse than Gigli).
And while I actually enjoyed The Evening Star, I can see why it didn't come close to Terms of Endearment.

I'm temptedto say Godfather III, which actually wasn't that bad of a movie, but could have been so much more, which is the dissapointment.
And whoever suggested "Breakin II" should be shot in the kneecaps.

Godfather I made me proud to be an Italian. Godfather III had me telling my friends that Italian Catholics don't really lust after our cousins who can't act.

| #17 Posted on 14.12.03 1756.18 | Instant Rating: 2.79 | CaddyShack2 and all the Superman movies from part 3 on are pretty horrible. One that hasn't been mentioned yet is Rocky V. Talk about a total piece of crap. Each of the previous Rocky films are great or great in their own way:
Rocky: Classic. One of the top 3 or 4 sports movies of all time.
Rocky II: A step back from the first movie but still was a pretty decent flick.
Rocky III: One of the best sequels ever.
Rocky IV: Fits into the "so bad it's good" category.
Rocky V though, if I was a movie critic I'd give it a "bullet" rating. Meaning I'd rather take a bullit to the head than watch this movie.

| #19 Posted on 14.12.03 1815.17 | Instant Rating: 6.28 | I think we've been over the whole Rocky thing before, but I actually liked Rocky V. In fact, Rocky V (even more so if they had took out the stupid Don King character) is probably the Rocky sequel that was actually closest to the spirit of the original. Rocky II was worst of bunch by far, and completely ruined the whole point of the first one. III is good on a different level than I. I disagree with the kitch value, "so bad it's good" theory on Rocky IV and think its only redeeming value is giving us a good way to make fun of Vitali Kitschko.

Worst sequel of all time is "Silent Night, Deadly Night 2." Most of the killings are flashbacks from part one.
