Hot damn! On top of the 12 regular season episodes, we'll be getting an additional 8 episodes for what may or may not be it's sixth and final season. HBO isn't saying if the extra episodes will make up a seventh season or not.
It looks like the plan is to show ten episodes, then take a break and sho the next ten a few months later.

They don't count it as one season equals one year. There was a fifteen month break between seasons four and five, over a year, but it wasn't 'cancelled' or anything like that.
Between the "Walter's dead" scene and the family reunion, it felt like they had all these little continuing plot points that somebody forgot to drop into the last few episodes and decided "Oh hell, we'll just round them all up in this one&q...
