Thank you for this racist comment....
Anyhoo, want to know why the Ravens have those guys in the front office...they were the BEST CANDIDATE FOR THE JOB REGARDLESS OF RACE. If he was black, so be it. Same for if he was white, Hispanic, Martian, animal, or vegetable.
If Jesse Jackson wants to take up a cause to prove to us that he is not a racist, he should fight to get my 5 foot 9 white ass to play center for the Lakers.
What's racist about that comment? I want to see more brothers in the front office making decisions and wieldling some power. The same way I like to see more Black CEO's and so forth. There's enough intelligent, hard-working black people in this country that we can strive to be in charge of somethings -- strive to wield power & influence -- and not settling for crumbs. I know the guys that the Ravens hired were qualified and they deserved their jobs. Same with guys like Marvin Lewis and Tony Dungy. As part of a race that does not traditionally hold those positions in this society, yes, it inspires me, (and no, it's not the only thing that does) and I take pleasure in it. Sometimes, life IS fair.
As far as Ray Rhodes, yes his record got worse as he went along. But you have to realize that they never had any talent while he was there to begin with. That's why I said that those Eagles had no business winning games. It was a miracle that they went 10-6 one year, much less two in a row. It was during his last two years that the talent level began to show, and players were drafted who either developed later on, or ended up being wasted picks.
Also, IIRC, didn't Sherman finish 8-8 with Green Bay the year right after he took over for Ray Rhodes?
Power flows to the one who knows how -- desire alone is not enough.

That's racist. Wanting more people of a certain race or color for the sake of having more people of a certain race or color. Just be content with a society where the person hired is on merit, not color.
Americans are a resolute people who have risen to every test of our time. Adversity has revealed the character of our country, to the world and to ourselves. America is a strong nation, and honorable in the use of our strength. We exercise power without conquest, and we sacrifice for the liberty of strangers. Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world, it is God's gift to humanity. - President George W. Bush, State of the Union Address, 1/28/2003
