From the 10/25 Observer:

Here's more on the Jamie Noble firing. The reason WWE had its hands tied and was forced to get rid of him was because Noble's doctor's report he sent the company (since he was looking for them to pay his medical bills as they do for wrestlers who are injured on the job) specifically stated that his infection (or his cyst, as apparently he's told other wrestlers) was caused by a steroid shot. While everyone knows that much of the roster uses steroids, it is against company bylaws, it is also a felony, and when Noble foolishly sent the document in, not realizing the ramifications, it established that the company knew he was doing steroids and there was a paper trail they couldn't ignore. To do nothing would have insurance ramifications. The feeling was Noble should have been smart enough to have not tried to get the company to pay for it. Noble was told, and other wrestlers are under the impression, he'll eventually be brought back.

Pretty dumb move trying to push that through. I can only assume he was banking on it not being found out to be steroids. I'm glad to see that they're (supposedly) planning on bringing him back down the line, probably after doing an Eddie Guerrero "stay out of trouble in the indies" stint. Can't wait to see him back.

Noble. Steroids. What the hell? Last time I read he was fired for not being able to work WWE style and not being able to work cruiserweight style. Can't win really.

But really, Noble on steroids. If I had to name five people (in the WWE)two months ago who weren't on steroids I'd say Spike Dudley, Jamie Noble & 3 other guys. They were probably just performance enhancers and not body enhancers. Or maybe they were voice dehancing (if it's not a word blame collins dictionary) steroids.

Note on label: take once a day, don't stall, and out comes the hillbilly drawl!

He's working in Japan now so they obviously don't care he was/is on steroids. Just one more unrelated note. What the hell was that flag on his trunks?

Confederate flag, from the Southern states. Has some link to the Civil War, but I must confess I don't know a lot about it.

It's the flag that the southern states used when they fought the US in the Civil War. The original question was from a British guy, so I'm not sure how much US history he knows... but basically, around the 1860s the southern half of the United States seceded from the United States, and started their own country, the Confederate States of America, and their flag was the one on Noble's tights. There was a war between the Union and the Confederacy, and the Confederacy lost the war and once again became part of the US proper.

But more important than that, it was his tribute to the flag/color scheme on the General Lee
from "The Dukes Of Hazzard", which is also why he had the "01" on his tights.

(this is the best picture I could find showing the car AND the flag on top, but they actually SELL horns like that? Hmmmm)

Oh, true. But the whole idea of the flag, regardless of the Dukes association, is that it is a symbol of the southern "redneck"/"rebel" persona. (I'm sure someone will be offended by that, but oh well.)

"He's working in Japan now so they obviously don't care he was/is on steroids"

(Practically) everybody is on steroids so no promotion in the world cares that they are, it's just that they (WWE in particular) can't come out and say that they don't care, which is what ignoring the accidental evidence of Noble's medical form would be, and have to pretend it's against company policy and all that.

Guys like Jamie Noble and Shannon Moore might not be huge, just because they don't have the right body type to get huge, but they can still use steroids to get relatively massive on their existing frames. Just look at a picture of either of them from the dying days of WCW to see how much their bodies have changed.

Well, there's a difference between USE and ABUSE. I'm sure you can use them "casually" (i.e. not getting all jacked up) without getting huge. With the amount of time the guys are on the road, I'm sure many of the guys use them to help keep their physique, with Knoble being 1 of them.

Actually it's the confederate battle flag, the one they carried into battle. The regular flag looked like this:
>

The battle flag was only from a few armies - but it was what our troops saw in the North and became popular - It was more popular after the war than before.

I agree, Jamie was doing the General Lee thing, Mostly

I feel for him. Personally I don't care if Pro-Wrestlers and Bodybuilders use gear. It is so deeply embedded in their culture that it will never ever be removed.

People just need to learn to not abuse drugs and alcohol when cycling on roids. See Ken Caminiti, although Dave Draper seems to have made out ok.

Anyway, our government really needs to understand steroids and the supplement industry. Jaime Noble could have been using M1t, which is a legal(for now) steroid. But it has terrible side effects. Extreme lethargy is the most common and worst. A man that has his schedule could simply not take those kind of side effects.
Our government is so quick to ban anything, without even understanding it, see ephedra.

Well, like it said, he'll most likely be brought back. Most likely a "we can't have this kind of behavior (wink, wink), maybe we'll think about bringing you back (wink, wink) if you clean up (wink, wink)" kind of thing.

Finally, a logical explanation for Kevin Nash...

Anyway, I also look forward to the return of Noble in the future. I never bought into that whole "can't work WWE style" that some people spouted. His matches with Mysterio were always a good contrast, without being too grounded on the mat or high-spotty. He was kind of like a mini-Benoit, which is kind of funny if you think about it.

Evan was one of the 20 guys whose contracts were picked up outright in the WCW sale and he was sent to Les Thatcher's HWA developmental territory with Noble, Moore, Akio, Kaz Hayashi, Elix Skipper, Kwee Wee, Lash Leroux, and some others while the Invasion angle was going on. But at the end of 2001 all of those guys except Noble and Moore were cut. (Actually I think Kaz Hayashi survived but then quit on his own to go back to Japan shortly before the split.) I dunno what Evan has done since then.

Evan has been the "AWA" champ since 2002. Although they only seem to run a couple shows per year, and he mostly acts in TV and movies now. I'm pretty sure he's in some reality show that's supposed to be on a big network soon...

That was pretty much his unofficial nickname. Just by watching him in the ring, you can tell he's studied quite a bit of Benoit's stuff.
