Nope, I wrote that quote. And I still stand by it. I never said WHICH Vince I was talking about.

My point still stands. Like someone else said here brilliantly, the WWF NEVER would have ever thought to use a word like "Hulk" to name their shirt-ripping, muscle man monster without The Incredible Hulk being first. If you want to use someone else's work, pay for it.

I'm surprised at the amount of people here who can't beleive that the world is coming to lawsuits to get money. Take a look at the newspaper for a while and you'll end up thinking "Sue anyone you can" was recently added as an ammendment to the constitution. Remember how Max Payne the (bad) wrestler was suing the video game company that used the name for their character? Does he have a case? Most likely no (Had he have been the least bit successful he might).

You can sue anyone you want, it all comes down to whether or not you have a case. Marvel thought that they did years ago, and Vince agreed. Even if they didn't, the fact that Vince himself thinks that they did will end up giving them whatever they want.

My only problem/confusion with all this is A) How they (Marvel & WWE) could possibly disagree on when the original agreement ends, and B)* Why the WWE chose to sue instead of just re-upping for a new agreement.

*I get the feeling that Schererer at pwi may have left some parts out of the original story he was "reporting" on, like maybe WWE tried to renew the deal but Marvel refused, or maybe Marvel tried to end the original deal early or something, either of which would make the whole thing make more sense to me.

What does Marvel gain?

They (I assume) are making a ton of money by selling every created character out to the movies. So why go after the WWE?

Still where does Terry Bollea fit into all this? He still goes around being called Hulk Hogan, will he be forced to stop those appearances? If he were forced to not be called Hulk Hogan, doesn't that give Marvel a bad PR black-eye, since Hogan is a top choice for children's charities?

Does Marvel tell a Make-A-Wish kid sorry no Hogan, but here is Dr. David Banner, he turns into the Hulk because of radiation. Not a message you send to a young child going through radiation therapy.

That is my main point, I understand the power of a dollar and a name, but the impact seems to not justify the action.

It's probably not much of a problem for Terry Bollea. He'll just call himself "Hollywood" Hogan in personal appearances and such.

Always good to see Silas Young getting work. He had a helluva run for us last year as a heel NWA Wisconsin champ. The match where he dropped the title to Mason Quinn was freakin' COOL.
