...apparently is going to be played by Kevin Fertig aka Seven from OVW. I really like the idea of the vignettes (although won't be seeing them til Saturday in Australia).

I know he's done various house shows in the last few months and there's a bit about him in the superstars section of the Ohio Valley Wrestling website (www.ovwrestling.com) but of course, it doesn't mention what his actual work is like! Anyone seen him in action?

Thank God. I was convinced it was going to be Horshu.

The only Seven matches I've seen were from Memphis. Decent, and could get the crowd behind him. Like a better Bryan Clarke was the vibe I got from him.

He's tall, so he has that going for him. He's got a very intense look, depending on how they package him (I forgot to tape SD! last night so I haven't seen any of the vingettes). Most people will probably think he has a typical "big guy offense" meaning slow and plodding. In OVW he mainly wrestled as part of a tag team, so I'm not sure if he has the stamina to carry a match on his own just yet.

I like him, so I hope he gets a chance to make it.

Thankfully, that's not the case. I'm hearing he's having good success with the Inspector Impact character down in OVW. From the sound of things, I'm sure he could be decent being a GM's lackey, like Johnny Nitro.

I'm not sure I understand the logic behind the Mordecai character. Were the writers sitting around going, "You know what the kids are really into these days? The Crusades!"

Come on, it's SO obvious Vince is just trying to leech off the success of the "Passion of the Christ" ... Like when he based the Waylon Mercy character off of "Cape Fear", same diff.

Children of the Corn I: (us.imdb.com) Malachai
Children of the Corn II: (us.imdb.com) Mordechai

So, will this guy be linked to Undertaker somehow? It only seems natural, right? Unless they plan on still not using Undertaker even though they've lost Goldberg, Lesnar and Austin for real and Angle and Show (right?) for storylines.

(And to save others some hunting, Odessa's picture is of Mordecai Brown, Hall of Fame pitcher. He won four pennants with the Cubs, and played from 1903-1916. He was known as "Three Finger," as he lost part of his index finger in a farming accident during his youth.)

I pictured a bird being freed ala The Royal Tenenbaums, myself.

"GO MORDECAI!"

Caped Boy: Excuse me, ladies. You may remember me as the guy who came to dinner a few weeks ago with underwear on my head. My name is Keith Stat from Milbourne, New Jersey. State bird, the mosquito. And as you may have heard I am recently a crowned class B dungeon-master. So if any of you would like to play D&D today, please speak now or forever hold your peace.
[He chuckles, and there is an awkward silence at the table.]
Caped Boy: Anyone? Alexa!
[Alexa gives him a withering glare.]
Caped Boy: Maybe you would like to join in? We do need a druid, and you have definitely cast a level 5 charm spell on me.
Alexa: In your dreams, douche-bag!
Caped Boy: Douche-bags are hygienic products, I take that as a compliment. Thank you.
[Keith walks off]
Alexa: Ewww!

Thank you so much for that. That is awesome.

Oh...I thought he was going for the whole "Greater Israel"/Middle East Peace Plan/current event vibe...I thought he'd get a big push up through the next March's PPV when he would battle Sgt Slaughter as the Persian/Iranian turncoat, renaned Haman. Trish would make a damn fine Queen Esther, though. Of course, this would mean we would have to be at war with Iran next Spring, and we would have no reason to do so...okay, okay...I'll take it to the politics board...

I have to say, my original guess might be off. I thought seeing someone dressed in white with crosses was a way of bringing him in as Taker's son who rejected the Dark Side of the Ministry.

I want you to know, I agree with everything I just said.

I dunno, I always figured that with all of the big fat guys, Vince would package one of them as Buddha. He could call his big splash the Enlightener, form a tag team with RVD, etc.

Just watched the OVW show tonight - Seven and Bane came out wearing identical all-white wrestling gear.

Which makes me wonder if WWE plans on keeping them a team, or if white is just cheap to get. :-)

Oh, btw, Redd Dogg returned to OVW to work a match early in the show tonight against Inspector Impact. That match ended in a blade-job, which I'm very surprised to see, as Louisville has regulations about doing such jobs in wrestling matches (one of the reasons that OVW liked the old Davis arena was because it was in Indiana, where there were no such regulations).

Maven and Matt C. from Tough Enough had a match against Johnny Spade/Nitro/Blaze/whatever and JOey Matthews (I think, sorry folks, but I'm blanking out on the guy's name here). To be honest, it was the best match of the night.

Finally, Dinsmore lost the championship belt to Matt Morgan in the final match of the night. After Impact berated Dinsmore in an after-match interview, Dinsmore took a swing at Impact and got beaten up by the rest of the Team Players (with Redd Dogg making the save for Dinsmore at the end of the show).
