I saw this in my local independent theater, and it was very funny. The children steal the show, and that says a lot with the adult cast of Bill Murray, Bruce Willis and Edward Norton. It's not in 3D, there aren't huge special effects, but it's a lot of fun and should be seen.
I've been meaning to start this thread for weeks but I didn't know what to say about it other than it was so funny and I loved it. The best Wes since Royal T-baums IMO. Although this was the first movie of his where I couldn't stop paying attention to the perfectly symmetric framing of every shot and got kind of seasick. Hopefully I've now ruined all his films for everyone by planting that idea -- YOU CAN'T LOOK AWAY.
One thing I am really enjoying about this story (books and show) is that everyone has problems. Even the villains. Take Lord of the Rings - the bad guys are one dimensional. Sauron is an evil eye. The orcs are evil, act evil, do evil, and that's it.
