Kane won SDMITB Alicia beat Eve Harts beat Usos Rey beat Swagger Kane MITB'd Rey to win the world title Layla beat Kelly Miz won RMITB Sheamus beat Cena by getting out of the cage while Nexus hung up Cena on the cage (Nexus also tried to stop Sheamus from getting out so they weren't collaborating)
One of the best WWE shows of the year. The booking was very good for where they're going. Unfortunately, half of where they're going looks terrible.
Match quality-wise this was an excellent PPV. Everything with Kane deal took some of the shine off of it -- going back to Kane vs. Undertaker for the world title in 2010 (and a possible SummerSlam rematch from 2000), get right out of town with that one. God bless the Undertaker but he was done for as a focal point world champion after his body fell apart after he won at Wrestlemania 24. Going back to him over Punk last year was annoying enough but at least he wasn't working with Kane.
If it's any consolation for Rey, his one-month title reign where he defended the belt once and then got destroyed by Kane was the best world title run he's ever had. He and Swagger had a great match too.
Both ladder matches were great, and this show ended up like all the double Elimination Chamber PPVs where two feels like overkill but almost always guarantees awesome matches. They were two very different kinds of ladder matches too. Raw's was the typical Money in the Bank stunt show with multiple ladders and lots of new ideas for moves. Smackdown's was a story-based match with fewer innovative spots (the big highlight was Kofi jumping off the ladder and boom-booming McIntyre through the table) and had to have been the longest ladder match in WWE history. Everyone's effort was strong in both matches, but Ziggler and Cody were the athletic standouts for Smackdown, and Bourne and Morrison were spectacular in the Raw match. And I have to admit that Mark Henry, who I CHASTISED for getting the replacement spot, did a bunch of cool stuff and was booked as a better powerhouse giant than Big Show was.
So there was one shitty MITB winner and one great one. The briefcase finish is played out now as it seems like there are more screwy cheater surprise title changes than normal ones. But Miz has been the most main event ready of the many young rising heels for a long time now, so it's great to see him get (closer) to the top. It was kind of touching to see him get emotional too.
The finish of the cage match was clever. It'll be interesting to see where they finally go with the Nexus/Cena now that all the roadbump PPVs are out of the way.
Whoever dressed Maryse could not have dressed Tiffany.
Matt Striker's Umaga shoutout almost makes him cool but nope he's still the dirt worst.
I thought it was a good show, better than most were predicting. The MITB matches delivered, and Rey/Swagger was match of the night. The main event went too long, they just couldn't follow the World title and Raw MITB matches. They tried but it just didn't click with that crowd tonight.
The show put new talent over strongly, it was nice to see the Hart Dynasty get a big pop for their win, and of course the Miz looks to be heading towards a run at the top of the card. He's got as good a chance as anyone to make it.
Man, with all the emotion surrounding the Miz's win, I'm almost wondering if it's time to turn him face. Maybe even have JBL come out of retirement for a while to give him a foil that always told him he'd never make it.
Poor Drew McIntyre. I can't stand him as a wrestler, but I know when a guy's getting hosed and he got hosed tonight. But now that Kane's won the match AND the title, I'm totally convinced that he's the guy who took out UT.
I haven't watched a whole PPV in a while, but I went to a friend's place to watch this one because I was interested to see what happened with Nexus. I was disappointed in that regard, because there wasn't really any advancement in that angle. They seemed just thrown onto the end of the Cena/Sheamus match so that they could make an appearance. I hope they're not planning on waiting till Summerslam for the next big piece of the angle, I can't imagine they'd be able to hold people's interest for that long, and I think they've done a good job building these guys up so it would suck to see that momentum wasted.
The two ladder matches were very good. I didn't mind Kane winning, but that was because it hadn't occurred to me that it was leading to Kane/Undertaker. I agree that would be disappointing, and it sure seems likely now that I consider it. At the time, I assumed it meant Swagger was winning the title and Kane was going to challenge him only to become the first MITB winner to lose his title match. That would have been a more enjoyable result.
The Giant Ladder might be the best addition to a wrestling match since the Elimination Chamber... Speaking of Giant, is that what we are calling the Big Show now, or did this just start tonight?
I liked how Hardy and Christian kept fighting each other and then fighting together. Kane winning isn't the worst thing, plus he's always been pretty solid in these matches.
Seeing him winnig totally made my day. As mentioned above, it's about time. I don't give a shit on where this is leading to, just him having the title is enough to make me happy for a long time.
I assume that means Vince doesn't think the Miz isn't ready yet and RAW doesn't have enough new faces in the main event already?
Anyway, great night for The Miz and he absolutely deserved the win.
I would have hated Kane as Mr Money in the Bank, but now I'm ok with it, because I always wanted to see a MitB winner go on and cash the briefcase in on the same night he won it. That was kind of cool. Now I just hate Kane as the World Champion, because I'm sick and tired of Kane, as I mentioned before and will not mention ever again (at least I will try).
Other than that: a sad day for Christian!
And: Summerslam doesn't look good (except of Cena/Nexus)!
So this is Kane's retirement push, I guess? I don't begrudge him the title win, but I wish it wasn't to set up another Kane/UT match. It was kinda cool to see him win the big belt, though.
Good show. I hope Miz doesn't become the first MITB loser. But given the full slate for the WWE title on the Raw side, I think it'll be a while before he cashes in anyhow.
For Miz to cash it in, he has to do against another heel in Sheamus unless they hot shot the belt back to Cena between now and Summerslam. I am not sure what they are going to do with Miz, its cool he has it since he has totally stepped up his game of late. I am not sure if I am ready for another Cena/Miz since it was all hype and Miz jobbing. Orton/Miz could be good. I can almost see them turning Miz as a tweener like Orton just to take the belt off of Sheamus then do a full blown heel turn later. Out of all the heels they have right now with Sheamus, Nexus, Edge, Miz and Jericho, I figure Miz or Jericho will turn very soon. I am not sure if Orton isn't on that list considering we still don't know what he is really going to do with the Nexus storyline.
I also agree the Nexus storyline is starting to run its course as well as who the Raw GM is. I no longer know what the goal of Nexus is anymore and if they can't find away to make them more then the guys Cena beats up, its time to move on. As for the Raw GM, its Cole, turn him and maybe you can save both storylines with that move either way this has gone on long enough. I am just shocked no one pulled the sit it trick Austin did with this mystery GM on one of his decisions. Of course, there is no one on that roster that has Austin's attitude to make it work even still I am a little shocked they haven't tried that stunt just to have Cole "Its never happened before on Raw." to further rewrite the history of the WWE which seems to be their no big thing.
I have heard that HHH went into surgery just last week or two weeks ago and won't be even close to being ready for SummerSlam, yet I can see him pushing himself to be there. Taker is 50/50 for Summerslam as well. Kane winning does point to Taker's return in the near future. Its good Kane gets a reward for his years of service hopefully it will last more then a day like his last title run.

Vince has always been like Mao, he rewrites history in his own favor every few years.
Wasn't it last year when for liek 2-3 weeks, Miz was calling out Cena and he no showed, and miz said soemthing like "I am now 3-0 against Cena~!" leading to the angle being dropped? How about Miz evetually cash it in against Cena after he's Nexxus destroyed, then saying "You chose right not to come and face me back then!"
Where did Swagger's lisp go? The Torch says it was a work but interviews say otherwise. Either way, he's truly become a well-rounded and legitimate threat at the main event level.
Sheamus retaining? If it leads to NeXuS crushing him and Barrett as champ then I'm all for it. Cena chasing Barrett into SummerSlam would be amazing. Unfortunately theres this whole "Its part of a far bigger picture than you understand" thing...
It will most likely lead to HHH vs. Sheamus and another title run for HHH which frankly sucks.
I like the Harts but once Jericho and Miz forgot about the Unified belts so did everyone else. Bring on Archer & Hawkins.
Great for Miz, the next step should be a feud with Orton.
Good for Kane too, he has earned it. I'm gonna go against the common belief that he was behind Taker's zombie-coma. I'm still holding out hope that it was the NeXuS who took out the WWEs two biggest guns in preparation for their master plan.

He wound up losing twice to Cena, the second defeat resulting in him being banned from RAW for a week before he won his job back as the "Calgary Kid".
He still wound up well ahead of Cena in the win/loss record though and I whole-heartedly support any plans to have him extend his lead.

Couldn't agree more. I can't think of anyone who has had more historically bad bookings/angles and stayed so loyal to the company. They even have booked him strong recently so this doesn't seem out of left field.
Even if this is more of a lifetime achievement award, who cares? Has there ever been a longer gap between World titles than this? No, I don't count his ECW run.

This would top Backlund's 11 year hiatus, but if Terry Funk's ECW win in '97 counts then he still holds the longest from losing the NWA belt back in '77 and winning the ECW belt in '97.
