Minor point, but there won't be a need to honor the "you're fired" stip. They were very specific about saying "if CM Punk *leaves Chicago* with the title." In this situation, he will not leave Chicago with the title and thus Cena does not get fired. I can certainly see that as part of Monday's Raw -- Vince smirking in the ring as he calls Cena out to fire him, only to have Cena cue the clip.

Punk makes Cena tap, dodges both MITB winners, Vince grants impromptu title match to a returning HHH who pedigrees Punk for the title.

I've delayed posting my Predictions while I've been attempting to reconcile my thoughts on the matter. As I've stated previously my original thoughts were along the lines that the current Punk / Cena angle was merely the latest tool in the ongoing quest to demonstrate that Cena is truly numero uno.

I've more recently decided that the WWE & Vince have realised that they have a hot one on their hands.

All things being equal, the generally accepted booking decision would be to put Punk over. However, Punk is leaving, he's wrestling Cena and this is the WWE.

Having this sort of lead-up where one of the protagonists is leaving the next day doesn't make sense. It is my opinion that the 17th of July is a kayfabe end date, and the actual end date is some point in the future, or a sneaky extension has been negotiated on the quiet. Either way I think Punk will continue to be involved for +2 to 3 months.

But even though I think the WWE realise that this one could be big enough to divert from their usual playbook, I have little faith that the WWE will manage to execute without somehow treading on their dick in the process. I still think there is a 40%+ chance that Cena wins via his crappy STF.

Enough preamble. My Tips:
Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella (Divas Championship)
I guess Kelly wins?

Big Show vs Mark Henry
Mark Henry wins.

Raw MITB Ladder Match
Del Rio wins.

Smackdown MITB Ladder Match
Sheamus wins.

Randy Orton vs Christian (World Heavyweight Championship)
Randy wins a lot and that won't stop here. Sorry Christian, but Randall didn't agree to come to Smackdown and not be 'the man'.

John Cena vs CM Punk (WWE Championship)
Punk wins. There may be some post match shenanigans, but ultimately Punk leaves Chicago with the title. I don't know how they'll wriggle out of the Cena's fired bit, but they will.

Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella (Divas Championship)
Kelly Kelly

Big Show vs Mark Henry
Mark Henry

Raw MITB Ladder Match
Alberto Del Rio. Since he's also the number-one contender, I can see him using that to get a match in the future, intentionally DQ'ing himself with multiple chair shots or some such action, then using the briefcase to take the title immediately afterwards.

Smackdown MITB Ladder Match
Sheamus.

Randy Orton vs Christian (World Heavyweight Championship)
Christian. Sheamus attacks Orton to cause a DQ. Wouldn't shock me, either, to find Christian and Sheamus in cahoots over the next couple months. My fantasy booking would be to have Christian then demand the MITB briefcase when he loses the title to kick off a face turn for Sheamus.

John Cena vs CM Punk (WWE Championship)
Punk. No idea if he's going to leave Chicago with the title or not, but luckily that's not part of the prediction contest!

RAW MITB: Kingston.
SD MITB: Rhodes.
Kelly
Mark Henry
SD Title: This is where the good old fashioned Memphis booking starts. Ref bump, Christian hits Orton with a chain, as ref revives Christian puts the chain around Orton's fist and has Orton cover him. Ref counts, goes to raise Orton's hand, sees chain and Christian gets the belt via DQ.
RAW Title: Punk wins with GTS. Kingston comes out, loses via a small package. Rhodes comes out, GTS, Punk and the Chicago people are ready to go out celebrating. Now, though, Vince comes out and says before Punk leaves, Cena has his automatic rematch clause. Punk turns around into Cena's weak ass death valley driver, 1,2,3...Cena walks out the champ and the crowd litters the ring with debris.

If they do that, they need to go all out heel with Cena and have him shake hands and celebrate with McMahon at the end. Only way that will work. They can then go the Bret Hart heel route with Cena, talking about how he respects the title, Punk was gonna leave just like Rock, the fans were cheering Punk instead of him, blah blah blah. Otherwise, it's just a reboot to where we were a month ago -- Cena as champ, ADR and R-Truth chasing him.

Bret was right in his situation; if Cena were to talk about respect/Punk leaving, it would just seem whiney. Also, aligning with Vince/power figure du jour has been done to death.

Heel Cena works better if he throws all the boos he's received over the last however-many years in the fans' faces--and not turn back once he receives cheers for being "edgy" again. A "be careful what you ask for"-scenario works a lot better, in my opinion.

I had a very realistic dream last night in which Punk won only to have Edge come back and win it all.

This is all serious business.

Henry beats Show

Sheamus wins SD MitB

Christian wins his match and then gets wiped out by Sheamus for an even shorter title reign than his last one.

Kingston wins Raw MitB

Punk wins, Kingston tries to be a hero and loses. Punk leaves with the belt.

I'm feeling more and more like they will pull the trigger on a Cena heel turn. I've felt like they were gonna do it before Mania because Rock is gonna be a god in his hometown.

With Punk being suddenly white hot, this is the only way to make people want to watch the show with him gone. If Cena wins as a face it is "same old shit". Cena wins with Vince's help and turns full heel, then suddenly HE'S the one everyone wants to see what he'll do next.

Cena would be right in this situation, too. Punk would be the one wanting to walk out with the title and disrespect the business -- yet the fans started cheering HIM, instead of Cena, who always does things the right way. Cena is the goody-two-shoes who does everything right -- charity work, kisses babies, plays by the rules -- yet still gets booed by half the audience. That's the perfect recipe for this.

Problem is, there's not big babyface waiting in the wings to take over for Cena and to feud with him.

John Cena vs. CM Punk: CM Punk wins.

Randy Orton vs. Christian: Christian defeats Orton. This feud bores me.

Raw MITB: Del Rio wins.

Smackdown MITB Ladder Match: Cody Rhodes.

Big Show vs. Mark Henry: Mark Henry

Kelly Kelly vs. Brie Bella: Bella.

MITB Shenanigans: CM Punk wins the title off Cena, and is confronted by both Raw and Smackdown's MITB winners. He beats them both in succession and the PPV ends with Michael Cole channelling his inner Tony Shiavone asking "Where will the WWE do now?!?"

The only thing I was confident in predicting is that Colt would interfere to help Punk win the title.

After reading this week's Observer, I feel more confident in my opinion since Colt has apparently stopped taking indy bookings.

OOOOOOOH. Montreal Screwjob, circa 2011, but NOT a half-assed revisit ("OMG, Michael's got Benoit in the Sharpshooter, we're in Montreal, and Earl Hebner's the referee!" "Bret's got Goldberg in the Sharpshooter, quick, get Piper to ring the bell!" "We're TNA, let's do it for the 47th time!")

This time, Vince really screwing Punk over by making him compete in FOUR consecutive matches. Maybe even the two Money in the Bank guys give him serious trouble, so by the time Cena gets his automatic rematch, Punk has this expression like "You've gotta be fuckin' kidding me!"

BRILLIANT. But yes... who would then feud against Cena?

1) Kelly Kelly/Brie Bella (WWE Divas Title Match) - Kelly with the K2/pin.

2) Big Show/Mark Henry (Battle of the Behemoths) - Show finally leaves on his feet with the WMD punch.

3) Raw MITB Match - Del Rio gets the case.

4) Smackdown MITB Match - Sheamus gets the case.

5) Orton/Christian (World Heavyweight Title Match) - Orton with the RKO with the pin, but Sheamus cashes in the case and Brough Kicks Orton to next week, winning the title.

6) Cena/CM Punk (WWE Title Match) - I could see it going a lot of different ways. But, I see Cena by way of McMahon-ference. CM Punk leaves with a huge standing ovation that will take the roof off of the Allstate Arena.

My prediction of order of matches: 4,1,3,5,2,6
