I wouldn't read too much hoopla into this; it's basically what they've been doing on and off for the last couple years anyway, similar to Wednesday night, and it's non-exclusive so the local teams will still have their broadcasts, unlike on Sundays when it's Disney-only.
The big news here is bad news: no more Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day telecasts. Phooey on them.
If Jeter actually finds a better contract, I'm sure they'll match it. But why pay Jeter well above market value? And you can't say because of past services rendered, since he was already *very* well paid during those years.
