When I heard that one of the teams involved was the Peoria Chiefs, I thought for sure that the other team involved would be Cubsfans' Kane County Cougars.
I heard this brawl was so bad, it actually got people on ESPN talking about it.
The discussion is about the pitcher, who in an attempt to throw a ball into the dugout, missed. Instead the ball flew into the crowd and hit someone. That person was taken out of the ball park on a stretcher.
The pitcher has been charged with assault, I do believe.

Yeah, he was. I just watched the video, he whipped that ball toward the dugout. He's done. He may escape jail time, but he's done, he'll be released, and probably have to sit a suspension of at least 1 full season of Major/Minor League Baseball.
Lots of interesting decisions coming out of this, 17 players were ejected...and then reinstated following a phone call to the league president, the reasoning being that the managers were going to have to be reduced to putting pitchers in the field, and by reversing the ejections, the fans got a full game out of it.
Edit- I just saw a YouTube (youtube.com) video shot from the park that shows the Cubs pitcher who threw the ball into the stands going to his dugout, pans away, and then pans back to show him now holding a BAT, and being restrained. He's really done.
Ryno's gone and on the FIRST DAY, a massive brawl breaks out. Everyone's totally grounded when he gets back. (Suspensions mean a good portion of them will miss the Wrigley Field game next Tuesday.)
I find it somewhat hard to believe this bozo hasn't been released yet. (And this from the franchise that drafted Ben Christensen)
And boo freakin' hoo if the game would have turned into the 18th inning of this year's All-Star game - you fight, you get tossed. You can't field 9 players, you forfeit.
I thought it was amazing how everyone just jumped on Castillo after he fired that ball. It was like a swarm of bee's.
I had just bent down to tighten my nuts, and there was a double yellow line, see? And next thing I knew, there was policeman behind me. He put a sticker on my helmet and tried to clamp me.
You could always cheer for the cardinals... except your from chicago... so nevermind. Darn the luck.. the yankees are out! I didn't pay too much attention to the series... but are the Angels that good?
