It sure is a good time to be a fan of Minnesota sports, isn't it? (I only wanted to clutter one forum with this though)

- Obviously I don't care about Gophers football, but it seems like that team is for real.

- The Vikings are off to a terrific start.

- The Twins made the playoffs (Sure they're playing the Yanks, buuuuuuut...)

- The Timberwolves are poised to be one of the best teams in the NBA

- The Wild should be a good team again this year.

I'm glad that I stuck out with my home town teams rather than switch alliances when I came to Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Badgers: 4-1 (Good stuff. I'm worried about Davis though. A sprained ankle shouldn't be THIS bad.)

Minnesota Vikings: 4-0 (Poor T.O. Gus Frerotte, Quarterback of the FUTURE!!)

I like it that Minny has a pretty decent sports base. Especially since the Twins have won the central 2 years in a row now and considering Selig targeted them for contraction. Interesting choice by him, since the team his family owns is the closest geographically to them (Brewers).

Of course, you realized that you managed to jinx at least all the football teams. I'm not sure if you can jinx the Wild outside of the hockey forum.

Beware the curse of the Wienerville sports forums!

If I can jinx the Gophers, hey, great! It's still a few months until we play them, but I'm sure it'll hold.

If I jinxed the Vikings...Hey, it wouldn't be the first time they've gone from good to bad really fast. Nobody will blame ME .

Selig is an idiot. If he thinks Minnesota MLB fans would've driven 5 hours to Miller Park once the Twins were gone, he's even loopier than we thought.

Kudos to the guy for relocating the Seattle Pilots here in 1970 and making Milwaukee a major league town again, but since then...feh. Bud, stop swinging from your fellow owners' jocks, stop playing commish, abolish ties from the All-Star Game, and find somebody rich who'll make the Brewers a winner, but keep 'em in Wisconsin. Ned Yost could use a hand.

Star wipe, and...we're out.

The Timberwolves aren't one of the best teams in the NBA until they get a second star player alongside Kevin Garnett...and until the Wild resign Marian Gaborik, they've got nothing. They won't sneak up on anybody this year, and without Gaborik they've got absolutely no scoring either.

I agree, all of this hype for the upsets is not going to do them any good in the end. Not only that, but now it's spawning asinine columns about how conferences like the MAC should be around in January.
