Good luck to those down south. From da AP: DENVER (AP) - Mike Shanahan has been fired as Denver Broncos coach after the team lost a three-game lead with three games to go in the AFC West. Shanahan, 56, coached the Broncos since 1995, the second-longest tenure for a coach with one NFL team behind Tennessee's Jeff Fisher. He coached the Broncos to consecutive Super Bowl victories in 1998 and 1999 and compiled a record of 146-89 with the team. This season, the Broncos had an 8-5 record but lost their final three, including a 52-21 defeat Sunday night in San Diego that gave the Chargers the division title. He also was dismissed as director of football operations. OK, slightly more deserving than Mangini, but still surprised me. And so both coaches from Super Bowl XXXII ride off into the sunset (still hate you, Terrell Davis.) Is Al Davis smiling somewhere? See what happens when you miss rehearsal?

He's blown draft picks all over the place and has gone through Defensive Coordinators like underwear. I think he's a good coach though. It was probably time for a change and he really needs to have less on his plate.

It's always been the standard that a couple of Super Bowls will buy you all the time that you want. Maybe there should be a nervous guy in Tampa.

It may buy you some time, but when your record post Elway reads 1 division title in 10 years and a 1-4 playoff record, combined with a late season collapse this year, getting fired is no surprise.
I agree with most of this, except there's no way Favre retires so there isn't really a watch, I'm thinking. I still like the Pats, even if Manning is the only guy left on my fantasy team...
