If you couldn't tell from the signature, I'm a fan. Anyone else been keeping up with him since Soul Coughing ended? He's been doing some really good stuff. Skittish kinda took him down the road to being a folk singer, but he didn't quite walk it to the end. Haughty Melodic had more of a full-band thing going, and his songwriting finally fully evolved past drug-addled word salad on this disc. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some word salad, but I think Doughty's got some interesting things to say beyond it. If you'd like a taste, here's a link to his now out-of-print live album, and here's a link to buy the edited disc version.

Paper Tiger might be my favorite song on Sea Change. The album is a bit sleepy at times, and it`s an album I respect more than truly like as much as Mutations or Odelay. (Did that make sense?) But it`s certainly a good album...
