PWInsider (pwinsider.com) says both Mickie James and Ken Anderson are gone after their contracts expired. So how long before all that there is left is AJ and Sting?

And Eric Young. That guy will somehow be the last TNA wrestler left standing.

It's pretty infuriating to think that TNA wasted everyone's time with over a year of the Aces & Eights angle and instead of giving it a proper blowoff, half of the group's contracts simply expired.

Didn't Anderson just start an angle where he stands up against Bully (and got a good pop for that?)

He then got utterly destroyed by the remainder of the Aces and 8s and stretchered out. It was the Christian Cage write-out.

Can't see either getting back in the 'E. Mickie's more likely, but Anderson basically burnt every bridge with the place prior to his TNA debut.

Anderson at one point was one of their most over guys until they fucked up his booking. He never recovered from the multiple turns he had and I barely remembered he was part of Aces and Eights at times. I would think Japan or the indys is where he is off too.

Mickie is just stupid. She is one of the most over knockouts they have and she can work a match. You would think TNA would find a way to sign her unless WWE came back with a real offer. It is not a good sign for TNA.

Sable, Bischoff and Bret all made Vince a lotta lotta money. Ken Kennedy is about as hot a property as Kenny Dykstra.

The only thing Kennedy can do that is even somewhat entertaining is magically make 1950's era microphones drop down from the ceiling and talk loud. I'm not saying that the talking is interesting, it's just loud.

I'll say Kennedy's talking is not interesting.

So did Ken Anderson ever get injured in TNA? Because it sure seemed like he would get injured all the time when he was in the WWE. And wasn't that the main reason they got rid of him?

He would make a fun Royal Rumble appearance.

He had badly timed injuries and he hurt Cena and nearly injured Orton. That last one got him fired. He was also out of action right when he was going to be revealed as Vince's son.

It's also worth noting that he was a horrible wrestler with no redeeming qualities beyond yelling his own name. So... no redeeming qualities.

Also wasn't there a thing where he did some big mainstream interview about the evils of steroids and boy isn't it great that the WWE is clean now and then failed a drug test or got popped in one of those internet pharmacy busts like a week later?

Anderson is no lose at all and imo brings nothing to the table. he did leave on a high note having his best match ever with Bully. Mickie had become one of the better heels in wrestling and I am sad to see her go. The WWE would be wise in bringing her back.

Got a concussion and missed a few months due to a chairshot to the back of the head from Hardy, but other than that he was healthy there.

He also injured Bobby Lashley when the company was trying its damndest to push him as the next big thing.

Given how indestructible Cena was over the span of his career up until this year, Kennedy had to be one hell of a sloppy worker to hurt him for any considerable length of time.

But if anything, no one's at the company will ever forget Kennedy's infamous CNN appearances. He will not be coming back.

Anderson being cut is good riddance to bad garbage. But Mickie leaving is just bad. Only 4 Knockouts left and Brooke is just being used as Bully Ray's girl. OVW has more going on with their women's division right now. I did see they used Lei D' Tapa on some house shows so they might actually end up putting her back on tv but she's still pretty green really. Another report I saw said they only drew 200 paid to the El Paso live show, which is pathetic for a "major" company and even disappointing for most of the better indy's. Most reports show that TNA is averaging drawing around 500 with tv tapings getting about 1200. There are over 2 dozen promotions here in California & most typically draw 50-150 with a handful getting up to 300. There are at least 4 that regularly draw anywhere from 350 to 850 with some of their shows getting 900-1200 and fair shows ( where admission is all inclusive ) pulling close to 2000. ROH even still gets 300-600 to most of their live shows and tv tapings. So even with "star power" and TV, TNA is doing comparatively awful when it comes to compelling the tv audience to attending the live events.

It wasn't that Kennedy was injured when the Vince's son reveal came up, it's that he was busted for the Signature Pharma thing. That cost him the plum spot in the paternity angle and a supposed WrestleMania match with HHH.

IIRC, the injury story was it cost him the MitB (lost the briefcase to Edge) only for him to find out he wasn't as hurt as everyone thought. He could've just sat out a month and come back, but the briefcase was long gone.

On topic - Mickie and Ken aren't being let go because they were good or bad or anything in between. Everyone except the top most guys* who's being paid anything decent isn't getting the deal again. It appears to be either per night deal (for a low amount) or nothing at all and ex-WWE people can still do better for that. They're still going to have to prepare for the next career, but TNA was pushing them that way already.

TNA's not going to run out of people, because there are always new people in their young 20s willing to take small paychecks to live out their dream of appearing on TV. (see: every reality show.) It just might be more of a stars and scrubs approach, for however long it lasts, and puts more emphasis on the stars.

* - maybe we'll find out if they apply in a couple months
