I'm not a fan of the genre so I can't speak for its quality, but it's no With My Baby Tonight.
P.S. Can we PLEASE learn how to spell "Mickie James" correctly? Her name is only on the TV screen, on the Internet, in magazines, etc. constantly.
This is just a pet peeve of mine. Like every time I see "Rick Flair."

Not too bad...a little stronger than I figured her debut'd be. And her voice's deeper than I thought it'd be.
Although the "Are you homegrown/Are you country strong" rhyme made me cringe.
Not knocking Carrie Underwood off the charts anytime soon, though.

Speaking of which, I've been listening to Country since the mid 90s - and sorry, this isn't very good.
For the record, BJ James' "WITH MY BABY TONIGHT" was a decent country song.

Well, if I didn't have 40 years of knowing "M-I-C K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E" it might be easier to remember. | Tribal Prophet

Agreed on both parts. You never know, maybe there are other songs better that this one on the album. It's not that it's terrible. There are good parts and a lot of bad parts in the song.
I get the feeling if someone else worked on it to her strengths a half-decent song could have been born. Also, something about this song makes me expect to hear "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!?" at any moment.
And my 2 cents on With MY Baby Tonight is that aside from the American Idol-esqe background singers, that song was pretty catchy. | spf
