| #1 Posted on 25.11.07 1527.54 | Instant Rating: 5.07 | I really hope that this is just a stupidly easy problem that I can't fix, but I can't get my microphone to work. When I go to the Control Panel to test the hardware (as has been suggested to me), I get the following error messages:
"An error occurred during DirectPlay Voice setup. The error code is 0x80004005."
"Windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use Add/Remove Programs control panel to install."
I have no idea what to do. Please help me.

Try the registry edits there and also reinstall the latest DirectX. | Gugs

Done. Still not working. Additionally, I can't get the registry edits to stick. I change the values, and I close the registry, and I open the registry to make sure the values are still there, and they're not.
