Ok, I have 11 hours in, and I'm at 39%. Is anyone having better luck than this?
I've rented 2 times now - and I have it until Sunday at noon. I'm not sure that I can finish it by then... does it get any faster from here on out?
Anyone finished it yet? Please don't put any spoilers in this thread... I'm just curious.
Your analogy is similar to:
"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?" "I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?" "They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"
I beat it once. Game of the year in my opinion. I started a new game immediately after I beat it taking advantage of some of the cool things I unlocked. I'm working on getting 100% items and 100% log scans.
"You won't see that on Everybody Loves Raymond!" -J.R. after Trish gets pasted with a chair
A great game, but a tough one ... Just like in the NES and SNES versions, I get lost easily (I'm an idiot, sue me).
I believe I was only at like 8 percent or some embarrassingly low number at the beginning of the last time I played, but then I discovered some stone steps that I completely failed to notice previously - I'm not sure how I could've missed them - so that percentage might have gone up ever so slightly as I discovered some much-needed items that had been missing from my inventory (Morph Ball Bombs!).
But I don't mind - I like a game to be challenging and take a long time to complete ... Sucks if you're just renting it, though.
Yeah Guru, I'm at 38% with about 11 hours in, so don't feel bad. Twice I have went deep into the Phazon Mines and died! It's quite discouraging because I pretty much rolled through the game before this. There are very few opportunities to recover energy and a TON of Space Pirates in various and sundry forms, so thus far, it is the hardest level. I hope I haven't missed a couple of energy tanks somewhere. I think I have six. More would sure make things easier.
And I would like to reiterate, as I will be reading this thread several times, NO SPOILERS, PLEASE! If there ever was a game where I didn't want spoilers, it's this one.
"I'll take you to a good place! Heh!! Heh!! Heh!!" - The ferryman from Castlevania II
"Ever notice Hulk Hogan ain't got no hair on his chest? The only one who's got hair on their chest on their team is Cindy Lauper." - Roddy Piper
I have like 9 energy tanks and am about 45% completion. And i am just now getting to the phazon mines. I missed a save point right in the beginning of the mines. So when i died(you will to when you get there, it's damn hard)I had to replay like an hour just to getso back to where i was. Man did that ever suck. I am now taking what i like to call a frustration break, but i'll probably be playing again before anyone even reads this post. Great Game!

I did that last night - the dying before saving thing. Damn. I think I lost about 45 minutes of progress.
I think it was in the same place in the Phazon mines

I am fairly upset. I just found out that there are like two things that I missed in order to complete my scan log 100%. and I can't go back to get them. One is Flaahgra's(sp?) tentacle and the other is the ice variety of shrieker. Can't get the tentacle cause it's a boss thing and he's dead, can't get the ice thing cause they stop appearing after you beat Thardus(one of the bosses). Now I "have" to play it again in order to get 100%. Not like I wouldn't have anyway, if for nothing else than to check out Hard difficulty, but I was really hoping to get everything this time through. By the by I am currently at 80 some odd % and am just finishing up my various and sundry item/artifact collecting. so i can beat the game.

Another semi-related question: are games getting worse or are we (or maybe just me) getting more demanding and more picky? I remember back to my childhood when I'd have a stack of a dozen or so Genesis games sitting underneath my TV.
