For those of us with a lot of time on their hands (most of us) and who also like video games (some of us) check out the Metroid Prime videos and screenshots at Gamespot. I still regard Super Metroid on the SNES as one of the best games ever, and to say that I'm anticipating this game in a major way would be an understatement to say the least. At least being a Nintendo game we should be able to get away without the kind of hype that made MGS2 such a disappointment.
"Nobody enjoys a good time more than I do, but this business of yours is as legitimate as a three-legged donkey...which of course is illegitimate because as we all know donkeys have four legs."
I stand by my original complaint with Nintendo. The only reason I bought a Nintendo 64 was for the promised Final Fantasy and Metroid 4. We all know how that turned out. I'm grateful that I got to expierance Goldeneye, WM2000, Zelda, etc.. but those were the main 2 reasons. I bought a Gamecube just so I can play Metroid 4 and Zelda. And what do they do? They changed everything after they showed off the 64DD and the original screenshots of Zelda, Metroid Prime is now a first person shooter and Zelda looks like Parappa. So now I have to buy a GBA just to play Metroid 4.
I can't complain too much, I think Melee is great (the only game I got) and I'm waiting on WM X-8. But I think it will be the same old shit like it was in 2000. When I had over 100 games for the PS1, 30 games for the DreamCast and 7 games for the N64. They make quality games, just at a snail pace.
The wait is almost... over. Thank god. Who cares what perspective it's in, or which system it's on (GBA or GC), a Metroid sequel is a Metroid sequel. Too bad Toe Jam and Earl 3 is X Box exclusive though.
