No longer "near death".
Passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Most remember him from Designing Women, but to me, he'll always be Hollywood from Mannequin.

THIS. The Mannequin movies will always be some of my favorites. In fact Mannequin 2 On the Move was the first movie I ever saw on my own as a teenager.

RIP, Meshach. Thanks for the memories.

I think Hank might ratchet up obfuscating stupidity a bit, and later on we proceed to find out he knew the bugs were there the whole time and laid a trap for Walt. Or Walt comes to a difficult decision, and has Hank killed.
