"Although most sources have Stacy Keibler as the favorite to win Dancing with the Stars, from what we understand, the voting public doesn't favor her. She's apparently not getting as much support from wrestling fans as one would think (or if she is getting support, she's not very popular among the general public). On Raw, which reaches millions, she's been getting her own commercial for it the past few weeks, an advantage other contestants don't have. From what we understand, last week in the voting, Jerry Rice won due to his being the biggest name, even though he got the worst scores of the last four among the judges. Keibler finished either third or fourth in the voting last week, as one person familiar with the results stated that even with her doing well with the judges, she came very close to being voted off because of her not so good results from the audience vote. Still, she has made a name in Hollywood as people watching believe she has a great TV personality and her lack of breast implants has helped her cause greatly as far as network sitcom possibilities. Time will tell how this all turns out. Still, PinnacleSports.com has her listed as the favorite. The final voting ends at Noon Eastern time tomorrow. Keibler's # is 1-800-868-3404"

Sounds like she doesn't have much of a shot to win unless wrestling fans vote for her en masse. I wonder what dumb dancing-related gimmick Vince will slap her with while she rides out her WWE contract?

BeansFriedPork on RSPW also tells me you can vote on abc.com and that she really needs the votes.

I don't know how much stock I'd put into people saying that "she finished third" or anything. I caught enough of last week to see that her team WAS the last one saved (sending Lisa Rinna (?) home I believe) but they said right before the results were announced that aside from the loser, the order they save people is completely random.

Of course, people only see her standing there as part of the "last two" (probably to help build suspense going into the last commercial break) and when she stays assume that means she's second last when she could have had 80% of the votes for all we know.

She allegedly said this:

She added that for the past seven years, she has been touring with "a circus" and mentioned how WWE forces most of their talent to pay for their own hotel rooms and rental cars and said how WWE provides no health insurance to its workers.

I don't see how this is anything but true. This information is often presented as the downswide of being a pro wrestler, even used as selling the "road warrior" mystique of it. As far as the circus comment, well, the show IS a circus. That doesn't mean she's demeaning the management.

Has a Diva ever successfully crossed over into the mainstream? Sable's infomercials don't count.

I can't recall one segment off the top of my head that made me think she was a good talker.

The best I can see her doing is being the hostess of a short lived reality series or psuedo-sport (like slam ball) on Spike TV. I think we are all praying that she eventually ends up in porn.

If she actually said that, she must have been offered something already. No more than a week ago, she was all like: "I'm so privileged to be a part of WWE! It's the greatest job anyone could ever hope to have! WWE is perfect!" And now this? The only possible explanation is that someone gave her a way out in the last week.

Its not like she is really important to WWE's future. She has no character direction. Since they got rid of her Super Stacey gimmick, she has had no direction or purpose. She just comes out and looks pretty. If she never was on RAW or Smackdown again, it wouldn't be the end of the world for anyone.

That being said, I hope she sticks around cause she is nice to look at. She should be someone valet, cause thats her only good role. I liked her with the Dudleys, and she was decent with Test even! I can't see her doing any major TV roles really either. She is pretty and got some talent, but I don't see how she could be a major part of a sitcom or movie.

Just curious, did anyone here actually hear the interview? Isn't it possible that they asked things like "Do you guys REALLY have to pay for your own hotel rooms?" and she said "Yeah" and then some HOT NEWZ!! rip off emailed PWinsider and said OMG! SHE SAID THEY HAD TO PAY 4 THERI OWN STUFF!! OMG!! ?

I mean, the quick write-up on that site has "taken out of context" written all over it. I'd just like like to see a transcript or something like that before playing the telephone game about who heard her say what to who on what show.

    - Stacy Keibler was a guest on the 'Mark and Kim Show' on KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles this morning to talk about her Dancing With The Stars appearance. Stacy said that since starting the show she had movie offers, TV stuff and different endorsement deals coming her way and she is now living her dream.

When the host asked about WrestleMania 22, Stacy said she's going to have a meeting with Vince McMahon to see what's going happen after this. Stacy added that for the past seven years she's been traveling 'with a circus' four times a week, paying for her own hotel and rental cars and no health insurance from WWE. She then threw in a shot at Triple H saying, "Triple H makes all the money!" Ouch! You can listen to the MP3 of all this courtesy of the 'Mark and Kim Show' below:

Thanks for the link. It's not quite as blunt as the first write-up sounds, but yeah, it certainly seems like she's frustrated with the money she makes with the WWE. Of course, she could be saying this stuff thinking that she's got the mainstream exposure to be the next Rock and go off into movies making $20 million a film like he does (ummm, we'll see).

Being away from the WWE (and the entire industry) for months and constantly having people tell her about all sorts of money should could make now doing a lot less work would probably make even someone like Benoit who's dedicated his life to wrestling wonder if he really could make a better living without it now.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if Vince can talk some sense into her about EXACTLY the level of "celebrity" she was out there with, and the life-expectancy of Reality TV star's popularity.

I don't know, she isn't bad with what she does. She might be pretty damn good with people who actually know how to write material that works to the strengths of the performers...

I wouldn't go that far. For the past two years, I've conducted a lot of interviews for TV with 20 or so wrestlers and without exception, they ALL freely admitted the rough schedule and downsides to the business. Doing so gives the general public perspective as to how difficult the job actually is - and how it's not all glitz and glamour.

If they'll say it for me on TV, why would they have a problem communicating the hardships of their job to a newspaper columnist?

Oh, I agree with you about how they all talk about the hardships, but this article had her almost going out of her way to badmouth the company (even with a shot at Triple H), not just talk about how rough the business is. There's not much in what she said that is supposed to gain respect for what they do.

She's also not talking about the "business", the way it's said she's listing off problems she has with Vince and then takes a shot at picking a fight with Triple H. THAT's something that's not done that often by people under contract. But like I said, I'm kinda curious to see if Vince can snap her back in line after their meeting, or if we'll see a news post on WWE.com saying "Stacy Keibler and the WWE have parted ways. We wish her all the best in her future endevours"

Chyna kind of became a D level celebrity that mean people laughed at as she fell apart on the Surreal Life, Stern and her porn movie.

Supposedly Stacy was so lowly paid by WWE that sometimes she lost money after paying travel expenses. I understand why WWE doesn't pay a lot of the women much, attractive women who want to be on TV are plentiful and so there's not a huge need to pay them a lot. But that said, unless you really love wrestling a whole hell of a lot and want to spend your entire life in it, I think a marginal career at best in Hollywood might be preferable to being just another one the divas in WWE.

I was thinking back to all the number one divas over the years.

Remember when they had Cyndi Lauper? Couldnt the E get a C level female celeb with a saucey background? (not a porn star). Also, Im sure most of these women who are falling down the ladder of fame will work cheap.

Tanya Harding, would have gotten a lot of heat before the boxing thing. Now shes been over exposed.

How much does Carmen Elektra charge?

The creative direction of growing home grown talent and paying $250,000 for it? They could get these celebs for $2k-3k per show.

I'd have to say Stacy has already exceeded the biggest crossover for any Diva. Chyna's been the closest - and might still have more - but Dancing is a pretty big hit - bigger than last year - and at least part of that is due to Stacy.

Stacy could be a great replacement for Vanna White - she's getting up there - but I think she could play in a lot of roles. I've always thought she was one of the best "actors" of the Divas, even back to the WCW days.

I think the Vanna White comparison is an apt one. It is the same kind of fresh, classic, friendly beauty. I mean my mom is like, "Who is this Stacy Keibler girl? She is so beautiful! And just so nice and gracious!" If she can connect with a 55 year old woman, AND wrestling audiences, maybe she does have a shot at something more than wrestling/reality TV.

Also, to Hobbes: Please never mention Chyna's porn movie again. There are some things you just can't un-see. :(
