From the Observer:

--As things are currently laid out, the Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan match is set for 25 minutes (that includes ring intros so it means a 22:00 or so match). The decision of which match to go on last hadn't been decided as of yesterday.

A couple of things:

1. BHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. 22 minutes of match time, 18 minutes of this will be muscle poses.

3. Seriously, they are going to give this match more time than most of the other matches and that's just...... sad.

By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

PLEASE don't comment on it until it's over. Go back and watch Flair Vs. McMahon, or Shane Vs. Vince, or Austin Vs. Vince, or Triple H Vs. Vince. Usually they get these sportz entertainment crapfests right, and in this case I think they'll deliver something.

The other 4 minutes will consist of 3:55 of trying to blade effectively, 2 seconds for a legdrop, and of course the 3-count.

Considering the two participants, I think 3 minutes for intro has to be a low figure. More like 5 minutes for intros, 16 minute match, 4 minutes for post match posedown/beatdown.

Flair vs. McMahon - 15 minutes
Shane vs. Vince - 14 minutes
Austin vs. McMahon - 16 minutes
HHH vs. Vince - 30 minutes...... OK, but still, at least HHH was at his best here and at the time, could carry Vince to a convincing match. HHH in 99 doesn't equal Hogan in 03.

In comparison:

Austin/Rock, WM 17 - 28 minutes
Lesnar/Rock. Summerslam - 16 minutes
HHH/Jericho, WM 18 - 19 minutes
Rock/Jericho, RR - 19 minutes
Benoit/Angle, RR - 20 minutes

So, essentially, two men with the combined age of 107 deserve as much time as the two biggest names of the "modern" era in their biggest match.

No, this is one time when Hogan winning serves the greater good. If he jobs, then the possibility of Mania IX recreating itself at the end becomes a possibility.

I don't see anything wrong with Hogan/McMahon getting 25 mins. as long as they:

-Do the match last
-Give Angle/Brock 25-30 mins.

It's a 4-hour PPV so i'm confident all the matches should get an ample amount of time. It would just be proper to put the "old timers match" last since we don't have to wrry about it eating any other match's time. Also since it's one of those "once in a lifetime" matches, with it going last, at least we can all sit back, relax, and just enjoy it as a pure, fun, exciting, sports entertainment match or if you're not the type to appreciate that stuff, at least you can spend the time sitting back and reminiscing on the rest of the night.

If Hogan/McMahon is not the main event, and Lesnar/Angle is the main event, the scenario can replay itself. Hogan jobs to Vince and is seemingly gone. Then, later in the night, Lesnar destroys Angle (and, if Kurt's going out for a year, I hope they let him get destroyed, so he goes out looking like he needs the time off) and then claims the legends he has faced have either retired or been injured (Hogan, Flair, Taker [left for months after the Lesnar match], Austin [fled the company rather than be destroyed by Lesnar], the guy Austin is facing at Mania [left for months after jobbing to Lesnar] and now Angle). Hogan comes out, gets a cheap win on Lesnar, and Vince can build up Lesnar/Hogan as a PPV feud.

I dunno...considering that this maybe Hogan's last wrestlemania, I think this may actually be a decent match.

Although I'm guessing that Shane O Mac will interfere on behalf of his father, to keep the audience on their toes.

What are the odds of Jimmy Hart returning to the spotlight here?

Actually according to many spoilers, Hart is going to be on Smackdown tonight.

yeah...Jimmy Hart was on Smackdown...for three seconds. Woooooo.....

And the announcers didn't even pay any attention to it. Guess he was there for a management meeting.

OT question: What's Hart's role going to be in the WWE?

They can take all the time they want as long as:

1. The other matches aren't shortchanged to make room, and

2. They give me a bunch of run-ins with at least one major turn (Shane turning on his old man doesn't count -- I mean, that one's a given, isn't it?)

Give me blood, run-ins and a big turn, and that's what we call a trailer park christmas!

(Besides, blocking 20 minutes still doesn't mean these two geezers will actually be able to last that long.)
