He and Connors really got me into tennis as a kid, so I thought watching him make faces at horrible guests would be fairly entertaining.
Wrong.
Every time I tuned in, he was talking to some burned out has been from the seventies who I could remotely care about. Even worse, he seemed to be enjoying himself and didn't get pissed at anybody.
I saw that the show was ranked dead last of all cable programs (something like 205th out of 205) and that it was often registering a 0.0 rating (TNA does better that that).
So I'm scanning through the channels tonight and his guest is...fucking Sid Rosenberg! For the uninitiated, Sid Rosenberg is the racist moron who does the sports on Don Imus's radio show. I won't even go into what a huge scumbag this guy is, but how is he a guest on a talk show? I know Imus is simulcast on MSNBC, but this is ridiculous. I won't detail his litany of racist slurs against the likes of the Williams sisters, but Imus didn't fire this asshole after repeated offenses which is unbelievable. It's not that Imus tolerates racism, because he's one himself, but that WFAN (the largest billing station in the US) would tolerate it.
Just in case, McEnroe's guests for tomorrow (honest):

I never seen anyone on TV that seems so disinterested in what he's doing. He sits there like he just doesn't care and is bored, he's really monotone... I once saw Janeane Garofalo on the show and she joked about his attitude, he didn't really seem to mind it lol.
