We're all familiar with this type of news item...

Chris Kanyon continues to work in Ohio Valley Wrestling and has been ready
to return to the main roster in WWE for a few weeks. No decision has been
made as to whether he will work SmackDown! or RAW, and the creative team
has yet to come up with an idea to bring him back with.

Source: Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter

Should it really be that hard to come up with something for someone as charismatic as Kanyon?

The MVP vs. RVD. It's an idea.

Idea? How dare that word get used when discussing RAW. Mr. Gerwitz could become permanently scarred if he actually tried to think. Instead of pushing Chris Kanyon, perhaps the proper idea is to give him the Positively Page gimmick, thus burying yet another former WCW wrestler.

What is wrong with the 'Whose better than Kanyon' gimmick?

He would be great as Matt Hardy's sidekick.

From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:

DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?

SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.

Does it remind you of any show in particular?

Bischoff brings back Kanyon as part of his entourage to take out someone like Rob Van Dam because "Who's Better Than Kanyon?" for the task.

How are these writers still employed?

I thought JR already mentioned Kanyon being put on SD in 1 of the JR Reports?

Personally, I'd rather see him on SD rather than Raw, where when you get over you get pushed down to the mid-card.

Of course, if they put him on Raw, he could get a run w/ the IC belt.....oh, nevermind...

Matthew: You would've loved it, David. A week in a foreign country, strange people, strange customs...
Dave: Oh, I know what you mean. I've been to Canada.

Anyone remember Kanyon's gimmick where he impersonated DDP. He would wear a blond wig and give the Kanyon Cutter to random folk at any time. It was just priceless when on Thunder 1 nite, they show a view of the building where it was held with a security guard outside. Cue then kanyon coming out of nowhere to give him the Kanyon Cutter.

who's better than Ka...been there done that.
I prefer keeping him of TV and finding something that might get him over and that is an actual direction than be heel #207 in the midcard who 'is full of himself'

There are already too many people on TV who have no real direction (fyi on both Raw and Smackdown)

What do you prefer? Rushing someone back or trying to come up with something different?

Have Kanyon come back and he still thinks the Invasion is going on. Have him be all buddy-buddy with Heyman, and feuds can be started when he accuses other former WCW/ECW guys of "selling out."

If Saturn hadn't already been dropped, he and Kanyon would have been great additions to the tag team division...

And Positively Kanyon was THE bright spot in a dying WCW in 2000.

Didn't he give one to Judy Bagwell also? I seem to remember this happening...

Or it was a really good dream I had.

Ha ha, you said "Judy Bagwell" in the same breath as "good dream."

Silas Young should fully embrace his throwback '80s look. He needs a Mid-Atlantic/AWA repertoire and finisher. He won with a TKO, and he's also used a springboard moonsault. But he looks like Jake Roberts and Magnum TA had a son.
