| #1 Posted on 13.5.09 1101.49 | Instant Rating: 4.62 | This Tuesday, there are two games that I want to purchase, so I thought I would ask for thoughts from you all.
Punch Out for the Wii is an updating/reimagining of one of my favorite games of all time. This has some new characters as well, so it's not just a straight up reissue if you will. Info at http://www.punchoutwii.com/
I haven't downloaded the UFC demo, but from all I hear on the Net, this game was awesome, even with only being able to play in the demo as Chuck Liddell and Shogun Rua. They have so many fighters in this game. Info at http://www.ufcundisputed.com/#/home.
So, do you guys have a preference on which game to buy? Is anyone like me and planning on probably buying both?

(I'm a little skeptical on what kind of game engine would actually combine striking, grappling, G&P, and submissions in a fluid manner that doesn't result in either every match ending in 3 minutes, or every match going to the judges.)

Same from me. I played the PS3 demo and couldn't figure out how to G&P. I'd get some good knockdowns and before I could even get over to them, "He lets him up!" and they get up.

I was unaware of such a thing. I am very happy to hear of such a thing.

That was terrific, especially the "bite like a mosquito" line. "Come over here, I'll tell you what that means"...SMACK.

| #9 Posted on 14.5.09 1656.15 | Instant Rating: 7.15 | To answer the question properly, my shopping list for Tuesday is ordered like this:
1)- UFC 2009 Undisputed 2)- Boom Blox Bash Party 3)- Wrestlemania XXV (blu-ray) 4)- Punch-Out!!
I won't likely get all four, but UFC is the priority. I have a couple friends that will also be picking up the game and I want to punch them all in their faces. And I also want to compete against them in this game.
Boom Blox is great fun and by all accounts, the sequel is greatly improved. ALL BABY COWS ARE LOST
I'd like to watch Shawn/Flair again.
And Punch-Out... see, I saw all the ads and in Canada, it's selling for $59. $10 cheaper than UFC, yes, but $10 more than Boom Blox, and I will likely play Boom Blox a lot more and enjoy it a lot more. I have a bad history of buying into big hype for Nintendo titles and then never really playing them much. So I don't know. I only have enough trade credit at EBGames to take a bite out of one game - buying three in one day seems excessive, even for one as foolish as I can be.

| #11 Posted on 20.5.09 1212.33 | Instant Rating: 4.62 | As a capper to this thread, I went with buying UFC for XBox yesterday. I usually don't care about the online component of games, but when I saw that Punchout doesn't have it (only local multiplayer and I won't get takers in my house), I realized I can wait for awhile.
The UFC game is super fun right now, as I am in career mode with Matt "The Doctor" Trick.
