Well since Ohio St. does not like him anymore and the NFL will not allow him into the league Clarett will most likely transfer schools unless he fights the NFL. What NCAA school is going to sign a man that does not attend class and cheats on his exams? Florida St, Miami, Michigan? The man has the talent but school wise is a joke. Is this the next Lawrence Phillips? Time will tell but for Clarett sake he may want to try the C.F.L. for now.

Just my thought.

Maybe he'll like Baylor.

Doesn't attend class, cheats on exams, and isn't in the SEC? Wow. Didn't realize those guys existed in other places.

Guess he'll have to move south to do that stuff. I would say that we'd take him ....but no. Kelley Washington destroyed team chemistry last year, and Maurice would do the same. Maybe he should transfer to Vandy - put them under investigation like everyone else in the SEC, too.

Feh... maybe Vandy'll be good. He can give them football credibility, and maybe they'll jackhammer some sense into him. (That is, assuming he doesn't fail out.)

Well, Maurice Clarett hasn't raped anybody, so I'd suggest comparisons to Lawrence Phillips are a tad premature.

Ohio State's distancing themselves from the situation probably because these things tend to go from "individual problem" to "lack of institutional control" pretty quickly. And that phrase terrifies university presidents across the country-I don't care what school it is.

Besides, OSU is desperate to change of the focus back to the team, a team that, in case you missed it, completely dismantled a Top 20 team on Saturday. It's not just "The Mo Show", although ABC/ESPN would have you think otherwise, what with having his face all over the place.

Maurice Clarett isn't going anywhere. He'll sit out his suspension, play next year, and then head to the pros like every other talented football player out there. He'll have this thing hanging over his head the rest of his college career, and some NFL team will stupidly pass on him because of it. And another uber-freshman will come along for everyone to drool over and question whether or not he's ready for the NFL.

Thank you Battlezone, for telling it like it is.

Maurice isn't going to sue the NFL for early entry 'cause they would tie it up for years in the courts and then what would the point be? He isn't going to transfer either, 'cause he'd have to sit out a year (NCAA rules, ask Brock Berlin). Real OSU fans know that he is a luxury, but not a necessity. The only thing that worries me is that Washington was mostly overblown hype and that NC State will be a *huge* test.

GO BUCKS!

I would like to know where he might be picked? There was an article that had quotes from NFL scouts that were uneasy about his skills. The character issues are already Randy Moss in size and it appears, at least to me, that he just wants to make the jump to the NFL and get a huge signing bonus. They also questioned his skills as they have only seen him play one season. Yes, he had a great season but he was still a freshman. A lot of teams want to see how a player progresses throughout his college career before committing a draft choice and $10-12 million dollars to him.

I doubt that any team will agree to give him a huge signing bonus without writing character and incentive clauses into the contract.

Hoo boy, now the criminal charges are being filed for lying on the police report. Also, the radio here was saying that Jim Brown (former Browns running back) is counseling Clarett and urging him to possibly transfer to Grambling, where he would not have to sit out 1 year.

WJW tv in Cleveland is also reporting that Clarett will not be re-instated to the team.

Wow.

I will be the first to admit to being dizzy from the 180 degree turn I've made since last week, but I think Clarett leaving OSU is the best thing for all parties involved. Whether Clarett goes to Grambling, or transfers to another school and sits out a year, he *definitely* needs a change in venue. And he needs to get his head in order. Because this will be hanging over him for a while.

As far as OSU, I think they're probably doing the right thing. They've shown that one individual is not greater than the team, something previous regimes (coughJohnCoopercough) have failed to do.

Maurice Clarett has made it clear through his actions that he's not interested in a college education. Which is fine. He's also shown that he's only in this for himself, and not whatever team he happens to play for. That's NOT okay, and whatever team decides to pick him up would do well to keep that in mind.

Now, my real concern is this: according to this (sports.espn.go.com), investigators have found that Clarett received "extra benefits worth thousands of dollars." If the school knew about this, this could cause TONS of problems down the line, including that nasty "lack of institutional control" I mentioned earlier. Here's hoping OSU's nose is clean in that regard.

I dunno, I have to say I've hated him for what a dirty player he's been his whole career so I'm not too sad to see him go.
