Maryse's heyday was late 2008 on Smackdown and she was pushed pretty hard as the (still?) longest reigning Divas Champion, but after she was drafted to RAW in 2009, Creative pretty much stopped caring about doing anything substantial with her.
This is actually good news in a way. Given Maryse's... tendencies... to be sexy, this could lead to seeing more of Maryse, free of PG constrictions.
Ah, yes. As I hoped:
@maryse0uellet MARYSE OUELLET Im Happy, im Smiling, and FREE, now its time to get Naughty ............BE SEXY
Ok, there has to be some kind of funky mojo going on with NXT at this point. We've lost all of this season's pros, some of the rookies, Darren Young to the wellness policy, one of the Usos to a DUI arrest, and now Maryse. By that logic, I wouldn't expect to see Matt Stryker around much longer.
If WWE had put a hundredth of the effort into Maryse that they have into Kelly2 over the last year or LayCool during their run and made her a valet in a main event act she'd be the biggest female star since Trish Stratus. I'm going to pretend Maryse had managed Miz for the last two years in a stable with Cole who never announced and without A-Ri who never existed.
A genius and an artist. Ladies and gent-lemon ... adieu :(
I like how Maryse went from posting twitter pics of "Congratulations on being released!!" cakes and celebrating being done with the company, to saying something (with better English than she's ever typed in before) like "The past six years of my life have been a joy and I had the pleasure of working with many great people in the WWE" less than 24 hours later.
I like to picture Miz calling her and begging "PLEASE DON'T MORRISON ME!!"
I've been a wrestling fan for almost 15 years and I have never seen a period like the past couple years where SO MANY wrestlers have died. It seems like Dave Meltzer is writing a Tribute every few weeks.
