He was always super nice and would happily draw you something without even charging, unlike most artists today. I have a Alan Scott picture he did for me that I had colored by Ethan Van Sciver, of all people. This was in 2003 I think when Van Sciver was doing fill in issues of NEW X-MEN. I really hated his work on that book, but the two of them were sitting at the same table next to each other and I didn't want to embarass the guy by telling him I thought his work sucked.
This is kinda funny now because Van Sciver's work on GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH is fucking great. |
