Is there a logic behind Mark Forum Read being in only the first thread in each forum? Why not in all threads with new posts?

Just curious...

My guess...the first thread is the newest, thus if you've finished reading it you've probably read all the older ones. I know, we all jump around, but...seems like that's the logic to me.

'cause I start at the oldest thread with new posts and move up until I'm done. In other words, I only care if it's convenient to ME. ;-)

It marks every thread read up until the timestamp in the last post in the thread. Because of the way it works, triggering the mark read in a different thread would screw up posts in threads that were newer - hence it is only in the newest thread.

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

Ah...suddenly it's all quite clear! Thanks.
