You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week. "Because personally if I was being choked by Ric Flair, my personal reaction would be well, "Glrrrrkkk, can't breathe" but after that... "Man, I'm being choked out by Ric Flair, this is so cool." and then some more "Gllllrrrrk, can't breathe."" (Llakor)
As promised, Marcus Vick has been suspended. And by "suspended", Virginia Tech means off the team (msn.foxsports.com).
Originally posted by the AP Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick was dismissed from the team Friday, the result of numerous legal transgressions and his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Gator Bowl.
University president Charles Steger announced the dismissal on the same day that coach Frank Beamer met with Vick and his mother in their Hampton Roads home, the school said. Beamer informed them of the decision during the meeting.
I'm simultaneously surprised and not at all shocked. Maybe his older brother can smack him around a bit?

I'd bet that if he was looking at any games on the bench next year, Vick would've just declared for the draft. I bet they knew this, so they made his decision for him, while looking like a disciplined program that doesn't take crap from anybody.
I really hope he stomps on an NFL player's calf after a play, only to see how many stretchers take him off the field. | Packman V2

Friday night, Marcus Vick told The Virginian-Pilot that he would turn professional. "It's not a big deal. I'll just move on to the next level, baby"
If he had even a tenth of the talent his brother had I would stay he stood a chance, but his repeated acts of bad behaviour will push his draft stock to the basement and not endear him to NFL teams. When he is drafted it will be for his pedigree and possible potential, a potential he never lived up to with the Hokies.

The answer, as always, is Oakland.

I dunno, I could see Denver taking him. They rolled the dice on Clarett, didn't they?

SUFFOLK -- Former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick has been charged with three counts of brandishing a firearm at a Suffolk McDonald's restaurant Sunday night.
Vick, 21, turned himself in at the Suffolk magistrate's office where warrants were executed, according to Suffolk police.

Being a lifelong Falcons fan and a as-long-as-I've-known-about-him Marcus Vick hater, I'm not sure I like this suggestion at all. Makes sense, though.

Assuming this is true and only the Falcons would be interested, why even waste the pick when you can just have him come on over after the draft?

Good point, but I assume the logic is that SOMEBODY would take a shot at him if he was still around late in the draft (like the second day, perhaps).

Put it this way: Adrian McPherson was about *that* close to being found guilty of something (gambling- the proceeding ended in a mistrial and charges were never repursued) which possibly would have gotten him blackballed from the NFL before his career even started. But he had an eye-popping combine and became the sleeper du jour at last year's draft.
Obviously there are going to be teams that have crossed him off their board already, but if he works out well, there will be a few teams that would probably take a chance on him.
