I had heard that he was taking time off to deal with family stuff, so maybe the release was mutual?

That's very noble...and I think that if the WWE released him because of THAT...then I'm disappointed in Vince and company. I'm sure that there could have been something arranged for Cor Von to work a lesser schedule.
