The Calgary Flames' official website, amongst others, is reporting that the NHL's resident knee-on-knee hit expert Flames D Bryan Marchment has reportedly torn out his ACL & MCL in a knee-on-knee collision with Leafs C Jason Allison in a game this week. Given the severity of the injury, Marchment is likely to miss the rest of the season. Given his age, Marchment is quite possibly done in the NHL.

Well, I've been hoping for years that his career would end in an indefinate suspension, but as long as he's gone, I'm absolutely fine with it.

I'm not one to wish injuries on most people, but when you've made your career trying to take away other (talented) people's careers through injury because you can't keep up with skill/work ethic, all bets are off. I'm just glad this idiot's finally gone.

I was at that game last week. The ironic part of the whole incident was that his target, Jason Allison(with a history of knee issues), emerged unscathed, while Marchement, in obvious agony, also received a two-minute penalty. Hell of a way to go out.
