*********** >4>> ***** MVP Baseball 2003 with Free T-shirt
Kudos to EA and MVP Baseball 2003 for at least getting the year right! It's also a nice touch that a free T-shirt is included with every pre-order from EBgames.com. Those two facts, while laudable, do not a great baseball game make. It's a good thing that MVP 2003 also comes packed with features that will redefine what baseball sims look like in the future. The pitcher/batter showdown takes center stage with an improved interface and new "hot" and "cold" zones that throw some strategy into the mix. Add a laundry list of other well-executed features and we're talking some serious baseball. And a free T-shirt. Ships next week for PS2 and Xbox, and mid-April for PC sans T-shirt.
*********** >5>> ***** Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner for PS2
Funny thing happened a while back when Metal Gear Solid 2 fans ordered a game called Zone of the Enders just to get a playable demo of the then-unreleased Sons of Liberty. Turns out that Zone of the Enders kicked mecha butt, which, in retrospect, should have been expected, seeing as how ZOE came from MGS producer Hideo Kojima. Anyway, there's a new Zone of the Enders game coming out next week, and advanced word is that this one also kicks mecha butt -- only it kicks it harder, kicks it faster and kicks it with stunning new graphics.
