Someone uploaded a poor quality video of the footage on YouTube last night and I was able to see it before it was taken down. From what I could make out, I liked the stuff of Superman in the bootleg that was more or less visible. The flying stuff looked really good. "Realistic", I guess, for lack of a better word. From what I could tell, it doesn't look like a Zack Snyder film, which is interesting stylistically.
There will be a Man of Steel teaser before The Dark Knight Rises.

No John Williams theme has me concerned. It just seems like trying to go this "New" route is just shoving Superman I and II into the same film. I would like to see this movie due well if anything to get the Justice League movie going.

People said the same thing about dropping Elfman, but you can't argue with the results Zimmer produced.
Yes, I can. I think the new Batman scores are just noise. Imagine Begins and Dark Knight with the Elfman score during the train scene and the truck vs. Bat-Pod.

I agree that they're unlikely to beat the Williams score, but I understand why they'd refuse to use it. They're trying to build a brand new Superman brand, just like they did with Batman, and that means not reminding people of the old movies. Music cues are the surest way to make people think of the old movies and immediately start making comparisons, which is a problem when you want your new stuff to stand on its own.
As sad as I am to see the Williams score go, they do need a fresh start. Superman Returns (which used the hell out of the Williams theme) is a good example of what happens when you try to invoke too much nostalgia. You just wind up wanting to see the old movies again, instead of getting into the new ones.

"This is DIET Double Dew, Kyle! It only has half the caffeine and sugar of Double Dew!"

It also doesn't help when the new one is Superman Returns.

I'm not sure inviting people to imagine two scenes that would have been notably poorer via addition of ye olde Elfman score proves your point as such.

Am I the only person that didn't hate Superman Returns? The last half hour was deeply stupid but other than that I thought it was pretty good. I realise that isn't the sort of ringing endorsement that's likely to make it onto any billboards, but still.

Dude, you would've had to. This was my first SDCC and I can't believe the amount of people waiting in line for Hall H on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I heard 6-7 hours just for a 1 hour panel, meaning you would have to give up a lot of everything else you want to do in the exhibition hall. The only thing I got was an autograph signing/meet-and-greet with Zack Synder and Henry Cavill. That involved waiting in line 2 hours for a _chance_ to draw a winning ticket from a bag.
I believe it. We got locked out of the Sony panel for The Amazing Spider-Man last year after a 3 hour wait for Hall H. If I go next year, I would literally block out a whole day just for whatever Hall H panel I'd most want to go to and get everything else I want done the other 3 days.
Otherwise, how was Comic Con for you? Open up a thread and let us know.

I started to write about the Con but it went on and on. All I got to say is it was very tiring. My legs hurt from standing and walking. Back hurt from carrying lots of stuff. Really wanted to make the Fringe and Game of Thrones panels but failed. Don't feel too badly on GoT as it looks like the D-team except for Emilia Clarke. Wanted to make the Community Panel but the Firefly reunion people waited in line OVERNIGHT and squatted in Ballroom 20 until Firefly. Seeing the line wrap around the harbor changes your perspective of how important seeing these panels really were.
The only panels I could get in was Expendeables 2 which I only waited in line one and half hours for (Hall H!). The other panel was Tron Uprising which wasn't too bad in Room 6A.
As for Wrestlers, I saw John Morrison, RVD, DDP, and the Hurricane but missed CM Punk, Zack Ryder, and Daniel Bryan. Damn.
