| #43 Posted on 24.1.02 1720.24 | I believe this was revealed on SD for a reason - namely, network TV. In case you've been sleeping in a cave, network TV = more potential viewers. This will definately spark those who watch both RAW and SD to watch next Monday's RAW (don't say you won't, I won't believe you), and those that can't, to wait until next Thursday and wonder what's going to happen in the meantime. I'm not even going to speculate on who'll be the first member to make an appearance, but what I hope is that they don't keep the nWo exclusive to the already established portable names. (You know who I mean.)
I can't shake the feeling that Vince's "mission" will be successful.... in spawning the split that's taken about 6 months longer than expected to happen. I can't really see it happening at WM, though, and I can't tell you why. Just a feeling.

| #44 Posted on 24.1.02 2142.05 | As per the Meltzer... "Plans for a WWF split, that have been talked about since last summer, are apparently close to finalized as the March schedule has changed from the normal Saturday through Tuesday touring schedule by the latter part of the month. Plans are to increase from approximately 22 house shows per month to 30, which would include house shows on the same night as television tapings. It appears the changes will take place shortly following Wrestlemania, at which point new talent will be added to the roster and some of the developmental talent will start being pushed on television.
As tonight's television show will indicate, the storyline is for Vince McMahon to lead the NWO group, which explains why McMahon was willing to bend over backwards to get the deals with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall done with limited schedules for each."
So, we get about two months of buildup to split, that's a good amount of time in thes short-attention-span days. I think this is going to be a hell of a ride!

| #46 Posted on 25.1.02 0333.59 | My problem buying into the nWo angle for the time being is this: How do you set up the nWo as a legitimate threat to the WWF? Hall, Nash and Hogan versus Austin, Rock and Triple H? I mean, c'mon, no question that Austin/Rock/HHH would win under those circumstances.
And therein lies the plot problem with the nWo that's been haunting it ever since its inception: If it were really that much of a threat to WCW, why don't all the WCW guys just come out there and beat the piss out of them? After all, when the nWo was first formed, it was just those three guys. They could take out anyone individually, but if Sting, Luger, Savage, Giant, The Steiners and all of those guys had hit the ring against them simultaneously-- no contest, right?
With the WWF having more talent than 1996 WCW did, the question remains the same. Let's say for the sake of argument that the nWo will consist of just The Outsiders and Hogan. If those three jumped someone, all his friends would come out to help, and then all their friends would come out to help...
I am very anxious to see how they're going to go about this. They have to set the nWo up as a legitimate threat to the WWF, otherwise the angle is completely wasted. But how do they go about doing so, when logic states that a simple three-man invasion would be a major failure? We'll have to see.

| #47 Posted on 25.1.02 0747.49 | Serwolf, your right. With the Invasion angle the biggest sell they had wasn't the inclusion of ECW. It was Austin turning. Even though everyone with a modem knew it was going to happen. The nWo is nothing more then Invasion², a chance to get it right this time. If I was booking this shit (and thank God I'm not) I would have Rock join the NWO at 'Mania (shit he needs to win one) and beat the hell outta Hunter.

Fan- I don't mean to keep jumping on you, I like your posts, but I'm just totally not getting this.
X-Pac against Christian or Storm would work just fine. But could you imagine either guy in a singles match vs. HBK (even a broken down one, at that) to be seen as any kind of legit threat?
By the by, who was the last guy that HBK put over who's name wasn't Austin, Taker, or HHH?
Anyway, you offered Hall and Nash against Storm and Christian.
Hall and Nash.
Against Storm and Christian.
See, there are two guys in that match who would sell every Drunken Edge, Poochiebomb, toothpick shot, or brush of the hair, while the other two would giggle with glee as they do very little, besides what I've listed, while Storm and Christian die for nobody's pleasure.
Do you honestly think ANYBODY would buy them as a legit threat to the Outsiders? I love Christian as much as the next guy and can tolerate Storm (some days), but all I see this as is another way to give US something to bitch about. I'd be happier if they'd have Kane & Show join Team Canada somehow, so that all the waste could be packaged into a neat little segment fit for FUHFUHWID. (And to see Nash's Hangman's DDT again.)
ANGER.
