I know not everybody likes Skynyrd, but their legacy as the greatest southern rock band is noteworthy. Sad day indeed for a man who lived through the plane crash.

I think I would vote The Allman Brothers (with Duane) as the greatest "Southern Rock Band). And Skynrd is fine, if overplayed.

I've found that Skynryd's best stuff is the stuff that never gets any radio play. And that stuff is fantastic.
