Holy cow.

This was an amazing episode, and I say that despite all the major events being telegraphed. Sometimes, even if the audience sees where a plot is going, a show can still be astounding. Watching Sawyer get his revenge, and watching Cooper just completely taunt and disregard him, was astounding.

And wow... Kate is an idiot. Its amazing that FINALLY someone realized you go to Sayid and not Jack when you want to deal with what happens on the island. And then Kate stumbles up and ruins everything. One can only hope that Sayid is smart enough to know that Kate will run to Jack.

So... Ben told Locke that the Others are going to attack the beach. Then Ben had Locke tricked into fetching Sawyer. Ben has to be planning for Sawyer to run back and warn the beach, and blow Juliet's cover. But why? The Others act with so many layers of deception...

And there's more to the Others than just fertility issues... hmmm.

I'm glad we finally got back to the Black Rock. I can't wait to see what Rousseau was fetching the dynamite for.

Another great episode. Its all about going Jack-lite.

I loved that "don't-ask-me-why-I-am-sitting-in-front-of-a-barred-door-with-someone- locked-in-and-I-won't-ask-you-why-you-need-a-whole-damn-crate-of-dynamite" non-exchange. Perfect!

After almost three whole seasons, I still break out with a grin whenever someone decides to seek out Sayid's counsel/wisdom. I hereby nominate Sayid for King of the Island, a title he should have had two seasons ago...and Kate gets the nod for Dumbass of the Island. Oy.

I actually thought Sawyer would head off with Locke, as he certainly dumped his demon right with Locke. The line, "If you change your mind, I'll be here for the rest of the week. With that, I am definitely not buying the whole "everyone died" notion....not that I ever was, of course. Yeah. Definitely was never buying that...

This episode was downright amazing. LOST is on such a roll right now, and the build-up to the season finale is mind-blowing.

Hopefully Locke burns the body to make sure his pappy is really dead. Who knows how far the island's healing powers extend, especially after we saw Mikhael up and about last week. ALSO....Locke says he's not a killer, so I guess he knows about Mikhael being alive, or perhaps he knew that being pushed into the fence didn't kill him in the first place.

I think the Oceanic 815 found in the ocean has to be a plant created by the Dharma Initiative/Hanso Foundation/Mittleos Bioscience/one of the other mysterious corporations involved in the show. The biggest red flag was that 'all' the bodies were found. Really? A plane crashes and everyone is present and accounted for in their seats? No bodies strewn across the ocean or anything?

I would love to see a Cindy flashback episode next season. She just seems so damn creepy as one of the Others, and I'd love to find out how they're able to coerce these 815ers.

Locke's dad was right up there with the Emperor from Star Wars as the most evil old man sitting in a chair spewing hateful venom.

I really figured it would take until halfway through the next episode for Kate to spill the beans.

Jack is having one hell of a heel turn while Sawyer is on a SCSA face upswing right now.

If they are all dead I'm curious as to what the Others role is, and how are we so sure that the helicopter really came for Desmund and not for the Others when all their communication broke down.

So anybody have any ideas of what secret Jack/Juliet have that Juliet wanted to reveal to Kate?

I was a little intrigued with the stone column Locke's dad was chained to. Another remnant of the Weird Old Stuff on the island, like the four-toed statue?

I think the "island flashbacks only" episodes seem to be the best. But next week looks like Ben's flashback?! That rules.

With all these telegraphed plots resolving themselves (yet still turning out to be entertaining), I'm expecting a big "wha ...the ...HELL" out-of-the-blue shocker for the season finale.

I think the Oceanic 815 found in the ocean

If I'm doing a giant cover up, and I can't say that I am, sinking a plane down a three mile trench might be tough and faking video from the tiny robots sent into inspect might be a bit easier.

The Rousseau/Locke bit was one of my favorite things on the show ever. Everyone's insane.

With the island being the only place with a casualty rate higher than Iraq, I'd applaud Sayid for noticing it was high time they became pro-active and built graves in advance.

By the way, the obvious favorite for the secret is that Kate's preggo.

So, the guy who gave Locke Sawyer's file is named Richard Alpert? Another in-joke name like "Henry Gale" and all the people named for philosophers?

Another amazing episode. Lost is confidently back in its stride.

I think the most vital aspect of the reveal that the "wreckage and bodies of Oceanic 815 were found" isn't the red herring Cooper pitched that they're all in Hell. Which I call BS on. It's that it effectively means the rest of the world thinks they're all dead. Charlie's brother Liam, Peg Bundy, Jack's ex-wife Sarah, the woman who had Sawyer's baby, Sayid's Nadia, Hurley's family, Sun's father, etc. all think their loved ones are dead and gone in the almost 3 months that have passed. In the case if Ana Lucia's mother, Shannon and Boone's parents, anyone who knew Arzt, etc. they're righter than they know. If Ben or The Others or Dharma or whomever did pull off a cover up, then there was no way they were ever letting Jack off the island like they promised. Nor are Walt and Michael safely home or heading home.

Also, I believe Sayid knew Kate would go right to Jack. Sayid is no dummy. And I LOVED that Charlie and Hurley went to him for help. It's taken the castaways a long time to realize what the audience has known forever, that Sayid is the one who should be in charge.

Hey, how come Locke has to drag his dad's corpse across the island. Why can't his dad become a zombie and walk like Jack's dad? My friends who watch Lost have soured on Locke. Not me. I still like Locke. Locke is the island holy man. He's a walking pile of island magic. If being around Locke got Ben walking again, without him he should stumble face first into a Rousseau bear trap. I say Locke is up to something. He's our man inside the Others. Don't count out John Locke just because he couldn't kill his evil daddy. Locke is inherently good, which could be why the island likes him. If he kills someone, he won't be holy anymore. Also, Locke has had the worst life, which makes for good TV. Locke's flashbacks always keep the island entertained.

What was Sawyer so upset about after he choked Cooper to death? After all this time, he finally fixed the biggest screw up of his life. He wasn't this upset when he shot the guy who was just trying to sell him some peel and eat shrimp.

That would make no sense. Juliet probably hasn't even tested Kate yet, but more importantly, that wouldn't fit in the context of the conversation they were having (i.e., Kate telling Jack that someone just parachuted onto the island). Why would that matter right then and there?

I think what's more likely is that Juliet told Jack that there's no way to send radio signals off the island, perhaps due to whatever electromagnetic anomaly exists there. That would explain Jack's skeptical, almost indifferent attitude towards the news that they may be rescued. That would also explain why Sayid couldn't pick up any channels on the radio they found.

Then again, even if that IS the secret, it could just be a lie Juliet told Jack. The Others work on so many layers of deception, I wouldn't be surprised if Juliet knew the parachutist was coming, with radio in tow, so she told Jack (in advance) that radio communications are impossible. So now, Jack finds out about the parachutist, he gets all pissy that nobody told him, PLUS he acts all righteous because he KNOWS radio communications won't work. He doesn't want to tell Kate this news yet because he wants his chance to bitch at the other LOSTies for keeping him out of the loop. Sheesh, when did Jack get more annoying than Kate??

Does anybody know if the Others' satellite station that Mikhail used to run would work if there was truly some sort of electromagnetic field that prevented radio communication? Two different technologies, right?

The only time I've ever wanted a character dead more than Cooper was Nurse Ratched when McMurphy jumps on her in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Everytime I watch it, I yell "KILL HER MAC!" almost instinctively. When Sawyer wrapped that chain around his throat and yelled "you wanna see hell!??!" I was clinching my fists, wishing it was me.

THAT'S how you know a great show.

You're probably right, but they did more or less blackmail Michael to keep his mouth shut with the fact that he murdered two people. Plus, Michael wasn't too concerned about saving everyone else even when he was building the raft. Walt asks him "what about everyone else?" and Michael responds "yeah... we'll send help. But it might be hard to find the island again." like it was a distant afterthought. Of all the characters getting off the island and keeping a low profile, I can imagine Michael doing it most.

We still don't know what the deal with Jack's dad was, but we've had two instances of corpses disappearing while the person appears elsewhere on the island. If the Yemi who condemned Eko was some aspect of the smoke monster, its entirely possible that Ben just intentionally sent Locke to his doom: bring a corpse and follow this blatant path we'll leave. Remember, Eko told Locke, "You're next." I can totally see Locke dragging that corpse into a confrontation with Smokey (or Smokey-Cooper) in the season finale. However, unlike Eko, Locke will prevail. I agree with you on Locke's awesomeness.

Don't know, but remember that there is a station that was able to broadcast the numbers and Rousseau's ramblings from somewhere (or was that Mikhail's shack?), so some sort of transmissions can leave the island.

I don't know if I was wishing it was me, but I can't remember the last time I've cheered so hard at the death of a tv character. Kudos to the writers and Kevin Tighe for making Cooper/Sawyer such an evil, evil bastard.

It's a shame that the show continues to slowly lose viewers, it is really hitting it's stride after an up and down 2nd season.

Could the big secret be that Jack and Juliet are working together against Ben. Sort of a double "mole"?

I just remember Ben saying that they were going to storm the beach and take the "pregnant women", as opposed to "pregnant woman". Of course, we don't know which of the Oceanic chicks have been knocking boots....except for Kate (caught on film). Maybe Rose could be pregnant....ok, probably not Rose. If they took blood from Kate while she was sleeping (possible), they could have run a test on that to tell if she might be pregnant.

If the men all have five times the usual sperm count, then Kate almost certainly has to be pregnant from her trysts with Sawyer. Presumably the testing the Others did on Kate when she was captivity would've revealed if she was fertile or not (we already know Sawyer is, since he had a daughter with Cassidy).

Orquiola brings up an interesting point that all of the Losties' family members and loved ones think they're dead. I wonder if the discovered plane (if, in fact it is a ruse) was set up for the benefit of the wealthier ones like Mr. Paik or Hurley's parents, both of whom would presumably be funding search and rescue efforts to find their children.

Re: the radio signal being blocked. It's been established that the Others' communications and most of their tech has been on the fritz ever since the Hatch blew up and the electromagnetic energy was released. The radio is probably similarly affected. As for the communications tower with Danielle's signal, it may be knocked out as well, for all we know. Come to think of it, there's a plot thread that was just about totally dropped. You'd think the Others would've commandeered a radio tower giving a distress call after all these years. Where is this tower, anyway? This is all grist for the mill for my theory that Danielle's story is total B.S. and she's actually one of the Others who had her brain fried by Room 23.

Yeah I wonder if when Locke said that he couldn't kill his father, that he meant he really couldn't physcially, not mentally, kill him.

I think Josh Holloway deserves an Emmy nod for his work this season.
