1) Jack
2) Kate
3) Hurley
4) Syed
5) Sun
6) Aaron? Someone else?

- Jin was never recognized as an Oceanic Six, which should've been a tip off. His gravemarker said 2004, which of course makes no sense in real time - how could Sun still be pregnant with his baby three years post death - and plays towards the time distortion issue going on here. Not sure if he doesn't remember who he is or if something else is going on.
- Aaron didn't have a ticket on the flight, he doesn't count.
- No one knows Ben is alive and that's the way he likes it
- Kevin Johnson appeared to have no idea who he was, or was remarkable calm about meeting Sayid. This is going to hurt his campaign for mayor. I like how they tease him dying next episode, the least likely thing to ever occur.
- Hurley not wanting to see the others means something at some point somewhere. I'm sure of this.

Here's the line. Here's Juliet VAULTING over it. That was seriously not cool. Sorry ain't cutting it. Benard randomly walking into the middle of the post reveal argument was great. It was pretty convenient to get to from argument to argument, but it was a nice sign of an actual community on the island. (Not a good sign - there's still 40 some people hanging around, and none of the Extra are married? Odds are low, but there must be all sorts of Extra hookups going on.)

Jin handled it remarkable well in the end and it's not going to drag on forever, which I thought was nice until I realized what it meant for the Flash Forward. I knew something was up when they could never talk, and the Panda obsession didn't make sense until the actual purpose was mentioned.

Sun's delivery was unreasonable quick, but it's TV.

three weeks of LOST time = 6 episodes?

The boat is pretty insane, and so is the captain if he thinks any of what he says makes sense together. I hope the guys got a better explanation after the scene ended, and that we get that explanation before the end of the season. I think they were implying Ben is responsible for the fake crash, but I'm not sure.

Jin was never recognized as an Oceanic Six, which should've been a tip off. His gravemarker said 2004, which of course makes no sense in real time - how could Sun still be pregnant with his baby three years post death - and plays towards the time distortion issue going on here. The Oceanic Six's cover story appears to be that eight of them survived the crash, and two of them died in the interim between the crash and the rescue. Jin might be one of these two "deaths" that occurs on whatever the hell island they're all found on, or he might die sooner than that on The Island. My instinct is to say that he's one of the Oceanic Two since there's enough of him left to bury -- unless it's just a ceremonial gravesite.

Jack's flash-forward took place in 2007, but that doesn't mean all of them are set in the same time. Remember, Jack appeared clean-shaven and sane in Kate and Hurley's future, which were obviously set before the flash-forwards in Through The Looking Glass. Sun's flash-forward was obviously set in 2005, seven months or so after this episode (so, I guess, in July 2005). A big hint came early on when the toy store owner said it was the year of the dragon, which last took place in 2000-2001 and won't happen again until 2012.

Poor Jin!

“How is it that I am a good actor? What I do is I... pretend to be the person I’m portraying. You’re confused. Case in point: in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes to me and says ‘I would like you to be Gandalf the Wizard,’ and I said ‘You are aware that I am not really a wizard?’ and Peter Jackson said ‘I would like you to use your acting skills to portray a wizard for the duration of the show.’ So I said ‘Okay’ and then I said to myself ‘Mmm.. How do I do that?’ And this is what I did: I imagined that I was a wizard, and then I pretended, and acted, in that way on the stage. How did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me where to stand." -- Sir Ian McKellen, Extras

Yeah, this was an episode with a flash forward AND a flashback. Talk about a mindfuck! I knew something must have been up with the unreasonable importance Jin was placing on the panda as well as with the way Sun was freaking out about Jin and her wedding ring, but I never would have guessed it was THIS. Well done, writers, well done.

Michael/Kevin acting calm when meeting Desmond and Sayid was clearly all an act. It's not like he could have shown all sorts of emotion without revealing his true identity. Plus, since he's been working (and snooping around?) on the boat, he probably had some kind of advanced warning that they were coming, so he could prepare himself mentally for the reunion.

Juliet dropping the adultery bomb blew my f-ing mind. As my friend said via text message, "I would have more than slap that b- she had better sleep with one eye open!"

It's always fun when we get definitive answers to long-standing questions. Now we know for a fact that Charles Widmore does in fact own the freighter (or the ship captain is Ben's mole and knows to perpetrate his lies??? nahhhhhh) and, more importantly, we know for certain that there was a full-scale Oceanic 815 crash site hoax, complete with 300+ dead bodies.

Aaron is totally the 6th in the Oceanic 6, the preview for the episode he was shown to be off the island in said we were meeting a new member, and tho those are unreliable they can't tell THAT big a lie.

Anyone else notice the axe stuck in the wall next to the door when Sayid and Desmond were walked on deck? "Cabin fever" may be an understatement... I can only assume we're going to see this during Michael's flashback to how he ended up on the freighter, cuz Fisher Stevens and Zoe Bell were both "one and done" and I'm assuming they'd want to get more mileage out of them.

Claire and Jin must be the 2 who they claim survived the crash and then die on the island. Which makes sense: thats the only way to explain Sun being pregnant and Aaron being born.

Well, that could have been just to confirm that Kate was one of the six not so much Aaron.

I'm surprised Desmond didn't shit a brick when he found out whose boat he was on.

I'm thinking the grave for Jin is probably more symbolic to sell their survivor story.

Juliette should have had her eyes clawed out for dropping that bomb on Jin out of nowhere.

My assumption (starting last week, actually, when Ben told Locke he should sit down before Ben told him who the mole was) is that Michael is the mole.

That was one of the saddest LOST endings ever! Poor Jin! I'm hoping, as BigDaddyLoco suggests, that the grave is ceremonial, and Jin is really alive on the island (but 'dead' according to the cover story.)

It will be extremely interesting to find out not only what Michael is doing on the boat, but what happened to Walt. Is Michael the mole, or is Michael working undercover against the mole? Or was this the only employment available for someone who had to change his identity since he was assumed dead? That haircut made him look much older than he did when he left the island.

It's interesting in the preview for next week where Ben says "What wouldn't a man do for his son?" I assume he's meaning Michael there.

If anyone is interested there are a couple of sneak peak videos for next week here:

http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com/2008/03/episode-408-meet-kevin-johnson-2-sneak.html

The first one is not a huge deal, but the second clears up a bit about Michael as well as adding some major questions.

The marker listed his death at 9/22/2004 - the date of the crash. So is Jin a) actually dead, and he's buried under that stone; b) actually dead, but he's still on the island; or c) still alive. I don't think Sun ever actually said Jin was dead, just that she missed him.

Ya know, I didn't even realize Jin's was a flashBACK until I read someone's thoughts on the show on the internets today. I guess I don't get it, since his part really added nothing to the story other than being a red herring and having viewers think he was going to see Sun giving birth. It would've been a whole lot more interesting if his was in fact a flash forward, with Sun thinking he was dead but instead he was still alive.

I'm with you in that it served no purpose other than to fuck with us. Wasn't happy about that but oh well.

My hope is Jin is still alive but was forced to stay on the island in return for Sun being able to leave.

Yeah, I totally thought for some reason Jin was really alive with a new wife. Oh well.

I thought last week's previews said we'd find out the rest of the Oceanic Six. I guess they're counting Aaron?

Well, LOST promos are notoriously inaccurate. Or, the promo hinted that we'd see 'the last of the Oceanic Six' just to go along with the episode's trick of making you think both Jin and Sun had made it.

Oh, and Sun is supposed to be 24 on the show?

I'm going on the assumption that there was something useful in Jin's flashback -- we just don't know how to hook it up yet. (F'rinstance, maybe that baby's daddy, whom we didn't see, turns out to be somebody interesting, & it's the panda bear that clues us in to that. Something.)

I also still think there's going to have to be some additional part of the Big Lie regarding Aaron. I keep thinking that they have to have faked that Aaron is Kate's baby. (Even though that would pose some baby-age problems.) Otherwise, what legal authority would have given custody of a baby to some chick accused of murder, armed robbery, etc. And if he weren't her own baby, that'd cut way down on that whole discussion of her being a flight risk. There's just still too much weirdness around that.

I'm also leaning toward some sort of arrangement where the O6 were selected based (partly) on having somebody who could be left behind as a hostage of sorts. "Leverage." If so, Jin would be the obvious choice for Sun, where Sun has the most imminent need to get off the island. Sawyer for Kate. Maybe Juliet for Jack, or maybe Claire for her half-brother Jack & Aaron. Sayid still has Nadia off-island, but potentially vulnerable. (If Ben could snatch Locke's father, he could certainly snatch Nadia.) Hurley doesn't have so much one specific person left behind -- but he's pretty leverage-able generally.

One thing I'm not clear on: Since Desmond contacted his constant (Penny), he's feeling much better, isn't having the bloody nose problems, & hasn't seemed to be flipping around in time. Got that. Before he contacted Penny, when he was flipping around in time, Des didn't remember Sayid, the Island, etc. Did contacting Penny also resolve that loss (or absence) of memories, or is he just going with the flow of being fast-forwarded past all that time & is still missing those memories?

Actually I think that Aaron is "Kate's" because of the timeline.
Claire was 8 months pregnant when they crashed and Aaron was born a month later on the island. But if during their 6 months or so on the island three years passed in the real world then Aaron couldn't be Claire's unless she was one of the nine that lived through the crash. So to keep the Big Lie going Aaron is Kate and Jack's baby.
