I love the juxtaposition of the scene with, was it Juliet and Harper discussing Ben's power and how he gets what he wants or something, and the scene then switches to the plane breaking up in the air and subsequently crashing.
To be fair, they have pretty well established that the boat people don't really trust the island folks and the island folks don't really trust the boat people. I mean, there's a reason Jack and Juliet started chasing Faraday and Charlotte even before Ben told Juliet that they were going to gas the island. So maybe Faraday and Charlotte figured they didn't have time to argue that they had good intentions with a distrusting group of folks that they barely know and don't really trust themselves.
Eh, still pretty flimsy logic. They do rely on the whole 'not talking to each other' thing too much.
The Bored are already here. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. And no... we won't kill dolphins. But koalas are fair game.
Lost is at it's worst when people are fighting with each other only because they haven't bothered to tell each other their plans. All it would've taken is
Boat People: We heard there's deadly gas on the island. Mind if we turn it off? Juliet: Oh, yea, forget about that. Boat People: You can come with us too. Jack: Sure!
and then there's no episode.
Jack: Hey, so do you have any more of those gas masks? Boat People: Nope, just these two. So if we screw up, we the suspicious people you don't really trust will survive and the rest of you will all die. Juliet: Wait a second....
How many more of these bloody Dharma stations are there? According to the Blast Door Map, there were only seven, but so far we've seen the Swan, Pearl, Arrow, Staff, Looking Glass, Flame, Hydra and now the Tempest. Not to mention

the Orchid station's orientation video we saw in the summer
“How is it that I am a good actor? What I do is I... pretend to be the person I’m portraying. You’re confused. Case in point: in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes to me and says ‘I would like you to be Gandalf the Wizard,’ and I said ‘You are aware that I am not really a wizard?’ and Peter Jackson said ‘I would like you to use your acting skills to portray a wizard for the duration of the show.’ So I said ‘Okay’ and then I said to myself ‘Mmm.. How do I do that?’ And this is what I did: I imagined that I was a wizard, and then I pretended, and acted, in that way on the stage. How did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me where to stand." -- Sir Ian McKellen, Extras
Originally posted by jfkfcLocke had to sit down to hear who Ben's guy on the boat was, so it has to be the one person Locke knows that is NOT on the island: Michael. It has to be....right?
I first thought it was Locke's father and somehow Ben and the island brought him back to life. He would be the only one who knew Locke was paralyzed before crashing onto the island and that now he can walk. He might have been the guy that Penny's father was kicking the shit out of possibly after/before he gave that info to Penny's old man. Now knowing the islands healing powers, that's why Ben said he's so interested in finding the island.
But now that you mention Michael, I now think it's most likely him.
Btw, this was a great episode for one liners. There were 3 of them that made me laugh out loud.

This was a pretty weak episode. I'm not even exactly sure why it didn't work for me, but I just felt like it was stretching too much and wanted me to just go with it. Also this whole gun pointing thing to get people to do stuff is getting a little tiresome as well.
It's nice to find out whose boat it is and the reasoning for his searching for the island. Seeing Ben act a pscho at the body then go back to normal Ben was pretty great too.
Faraday sure can type with his bio-gear on.
The video of Mr. Whidmore beating the guy was pretty cheesey.
I also half expected the episode to end on an 80's style freeze frame laugh with Hurley and Sawyer, good thing Ben passed by.
Edit: I also like Claire taking a stand early in the show, too bad it didn't really go anywhere for her.
I thought earlier that Mikhail was a possibility for the man on the boat too but I think the promo for next week made it seem extremely obvious that it's Michael. I guess some people don't watch the promos though?
Once again LMD brushes elbows with a WWE superstar and we all benefit! Even if you're not interested in the movie (but it's actually pretty interesting), skip to the end for some non-movie, more WrestleMania-y stuff. http://www.thedivareview.
