Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but they DID go to the police. The two people talking to Locke while he was laying in his hospital bed were law enforcement officials of some sort. They told him that his father had fled the country and could be anywhere in the world. Even if Locke didn't explicitly go to the police himself, you can be damn sure that SOMEBODY got the police involved when they see a man plummet out of the 8th floor of a building.

Also, on another note, I think that bottle of whiskey is potentially way more important than just an easter egg. In the last Desmond episode, Penny's father made a big deal about how expensive and rare that type of whiskey is and how not just anybody would have some. And yet, we see the LOSTies enjoying a bottle of it on the island. How did it get there? Perhaps Locke's father brought it with him on the flight? We know that he was fleeing the country. It wouldn't be that much of a stretch that he was in Australia and got on flight 815, although it might be somewhat risky for him to be heading to LA. Either way, I'll be interested to see if that's where they're going with this.

Perhaps I am missing something, but why would Locke blow up the sub just because it is the only way off the island? Couldn't he just say "No thanks, this island cured me, I am staying"? Why does he have to screw everyone else out of leaving?

Again, maybe I missed something, or maybe it is yet to be revealed.

My thoughts on this: He wouldn't want anybody leaving and coming back with a rescue party because the island is likely to be taken over by whatever authorities do the rescuing. He doesn't want military type people overrunning the island and stomping out whatever mysterious power there is. It would ruin the island for him, and he just wants things to stay they way they are.

Ken Kennedy debuted a new finisher: Jeff Hardy fans will insist on calling it the Swanton Bomb, but it looks WAY more devastating when not performed by a 180-pound fruitcake.

I realize that. What I meant was when the police showed up and asked Locke about the dead son, it was obvious that his dad was the murderer. It was obvious to us, it was obvious to Locke, that's why he confronted him. So he should've just told the police everything when they asked him originally.

I understand what Dmp is saying about wanting to believe his father, that's what I figured, I just thought maybe there was some other reason I was forgetting too.

Also doesn't Sawyer have a Tallahassee connection? Maybe the "man from Tallahassee" also supports that Locke's father is the real Sawyer.

From Lostpedia (http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Anthony_Cooper/Theories)

Theory: Anthony Cooper is the real Sawyer.

* On the Season 2 DVD set, under the "Lost Connections" feature, there's a curious link between Locke and Sawyer that plays a clip from Season One where Locke asks Sawyer why he chose that name.
* Adam Seward in another alias that he went by. "Anthony Cooper Adam Seward" is an anagram for "Sawyer, the con man, a poor dad."

Edit: added link

Like Pieman, I turned to my wife and said "locke is going out the window" but I had no idea how. Obviously it was a spontaneous decision by Locke's Dad because he could not have known that Locke was going to threaten to call his bluff on the broken engagement.

I also believe that Locke's dad is the real "Sawyer" - the cons just keeping pointing in that direction.

But why is Locke's Dad there in the first place ? Did they bring him in from wherever he was after the plane crashed ? I don't think so. This was a fleeting thought as I viewed it but suppose that Locke's dad was working for Dharma - his cons helped to finance the island & it's supplies ? When he had to run, he ran to mexico and then to the island. The one thing I found interesting about locke's dad being in the room was that he was showing signs of being roughed up recently. Like that night. He was on the island but did not want to come to the room.

Sayid was brilliant in his interaction with Alex and will Danielle wait to confront Alex or is she confronting her now ? The look on her face when she saw Alex......

and Ben, what can be said about Ben ? He is truly a master at making people do what he wants them to do and in Locke, he sees someone that he can easily manipulate. I loved that in his scene with Locke after the explosion that Ben's face was half in the light and half in the dark - almost like 2 Face in Batman - and in his final scene with Locke, the tight close up of his pointed features and his eyes made me think that Ben truly is the serpent in this Garden of Eden.

You have got to love how flexible Kate is and was Jack going to tell her that he saw her with Sawyer and that is why he is doing what he was trying to do in leaving the island ? With Juliet's interruption, we lost the chance to know.

The previews for next week were killer.

Is it next Wednesday yet ?
