I think, but I don't know the timing for sure, but when I updated Firefox to 3.0.6, Firefox started forgetting my log-in cookies every time I close it. For example, The-W makes me log in again every time.

My new laptop doesn't have this problem, though, so I'm not sure if it's new Firefox that's the problem, though.

My add-ons are:
Adblock Plus
Download Statusbar
IE Tab
Java Quick Starter (when did that happen?)
oldbar
Show Picture
Tab Mix Plus

Don't think my about:config changes did anything, nor did my security options (my private data is not set to clear).

You could try

- disabling all your add-ins (or running Firefox Safe Mode) and seeing if you still have the same problem. Either you rule out all the add-ins or you just start enabling them one at a time till you hit the problem one.

- flushing out your current private data. You can't make much use of it now, but perhaps there's something in there right now corrupting it.

Having you checked your Privacy settings in the Options window to see if Cookies are being kept until "I close Firefox"?

Didn't work. After I disabled them all, I still would lose my sessions. Same with running Safe Firefox.

Nope. Although that finally got me to clear out my history. Whose bright idea was it for the History to have a minimum timeframe rather than a maximum?

Nope, that's not ticked off.

Success! (after lots of Googling (support.mozilla.com))

The key passage was this:

A likely cause is the file that stores cookies may be corrupt. To test this close Firefox, go to your profile folder and rename cookies.sqlite to cookies.tmp
Restart Firefox, log into those sites and then see if it remembers the logins.

I had a bit of a hiccup when I could only find cookies.sqlite-journal at first (and renamed it .temp), but that is a different file.

I subscribe to mlb.tv, and watch a lot of baseball games live on the web. I was wondering if there was anything that I could do on my end to make the streaming smoother.
