Very much enjoyed this strange, action-packed time travel story with Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Bruce Willis as a younger man and Bruce Willis playing Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an older man. They're both assassins. And the movie never ceased to surprise me. ( SPOILERS.

I saw this yesterday, and I think it's the best movie I've seen all year. A really excellent sci-fi crime drama with the best world-building I've seen in any movie since Blade Runner. You can imagine any number of other stories that could be set in the same reality. Just a fantastic, fantastic film.

Being a time travel movie starring Bruce Willis, it reminded me of Twelve Monkeys.

Been a good month for sci-fi films, as both (Judge) Dredd and Looper being well worth the trip to the theatre.

I am also a big fan of Looper. And I agree with Tenken about Blade Runner. (One of the reasons that I disliked Dredd is that it didn't spend enough time with those world-building details.)

All of Rian Johnson't films are worth checking out.

I did a (super-geeky? maybe?) analysis of the connections between his three films (Brick, The Brothers Bloom and Looper) for Sound On Sight:

I finally got to see this today, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Jeff Daniels was especially good in this, along with the major players. The story was ever-changing which kept you on your toes as a viewer. I like stories like that, as you root for and against Bruce Willis and JGL at different times. Also, the women weren't bad to look at.

"Put on your helmets, we'll be reaching speeds of 3!"
"It was nice of you to give that dead woman another chance."

hoo boy. I knew EB would have dried spit on his face the next day. If there was ever a remake of Scanners, Tim Olyphant must be in it. His stares are just so scary. Al showing sympathy is a disturbing thing.
