Late in the night and it occurred to me that RVD has been in the WWE for quite some time and I don't think he's ever NOT been a face.. I don't remember when he first entered but is his the longest current face run in the WWE?

Also got me to thinking, who's got the ironman record for longest current heel run? Even doofuses like Albert and Test have had short-lived face turns here and there.. I'll throw Christian's name out there but maybe there's someone else.

Farooq/Bradshaw have been a face tag team for a long time, which kind of shocks me.. If you had told me when they first started the "APA" gimmick that it would last well into 2003 with no signs of ending... I'd have called you crazy.

Yeesh, Albert hasn't been a face since.....uh, since he was teaming with Scotty 2 Hotty, back before Scotty went out.....which'd be at least a year and a half ago, I think.....

Outside of him, the record clearly goes to Vince ;)

Actually, RVD came into the WWE as part of the ill-fated Alliance and thus was a heel....but only on paper. His face pops as a heel were unreal, very similar to Eddy's just after he put Tajiri through the low rider windshield.

William Regal has been a heel since September 2001, but I'm guessing that he doesn't count since he hasn't been around. That's about when Christian turned as well. Jericho turned not too long after that.

What about Stevie/Steven Richards? I can't remember ever seeing him as a face in WWE. I'm not too familiar with his history in ECW or anything before WWE, so maybe he was a face back then.

Actually, Regal did turn face briefly after his WWF return in 2000 of September. When the Alliance angle started, he was on the side of WWF since he was the commissioner and face by defacto. He turned back heel later in the angle when he turned on Kurt Angle causing him to lose the world title back to Stone Cold Steve Austin. Then Angle became a heel once again a few weeks after.

I remember reading somewhere that Regal was a face around fall of 2000.

I think RVD has to be the longest running one of the guys that count. The key to standing out in this catagory is that you didn't NEED to turn to stay a *success*. I mean, if Bradshaw gets hurt tomorrow and doesn't return for 10 years, shit like that shouldn't count. Guys that don't turn simply because they're too useless for fans to care about (Spike Dudley) should be in the same boat.

Taker has not been a heel in forever!

Has Rikishi ever been a heel? Even when he was rung up as the scapegoat who ran over Austin, he was trying to do the right thing, for the brothers or something and everyone forgave him (or didn't give a shit).

Edge was never a heel.

When was the last time Trips was a face?

Flair has been a "heel" since he came in.

I am sure there are more, but that is th ebest I can do now.

Taker was a heel up until July of last year after turning in December 2001. Rikishi was a heel from October 2000 to May 2001. Edge was a GREAT heel from April 2000 to June 2001, when he won King Of The Ring. HHH was a face from his big comeback in January 2002 til July 2002, when he turned on Shawn Michaels. Flair was a face when he returned as "Co-WWE-Owner" in November 2001 til April 2002, when he turned into Vinnie Mac Mk. II. THEN he turned face again when Austin walked out, THEN he turned back heel to side with HHH at Unforgiven in September.

Sorry to bust on you. Just pointing out the facts.

And as for the topic at hand, Stevie juuust outstrips Christian, I think-he's been a heel since his WWE debut, pretty much, even though he spent the first year working as a full-time jobber on the weekend shows.

D'oh! That was brutal. I missed lots of 2000-2001. But still, damn!

I did see Flair's face run and forgot. God, I love Flair.

Edge was a heel? Oh! The was he aprt of that Brood shit? I hated them, and not cause they were heels, but cause they sucked and it was s tupid gimmick. What was the fat guy in the puffy shirt, Gangrel? Puh-lease.

And dude, did you have to look those dates up or do you actually KNOW all that? I don't know if I should be impressed or concerned.

1) Taker was a heel last year since the day after the 2001 Survivor Series (the day Chris Jericho went heel) up until Vengeance 2002 when he lost the then-Unified World Title to the Rock.

2) For the benefit of those with flash photography... Edge was a heel with Christian when they were tagging in 2000-1 until Christian turned on Edge during the Alliance storyline. They went heel the day after WM16 when they won the tag titles.

3) HHH was a face when he came back in Jan. 2002 (and boy was he humoungous then) until he turned heel last July prior to Summerslam after jumping to Raw and turning on HBK. Needless to say, the face run was a flop despite beating Chris Jericho at WM18 for the then-Unified World Title.

I don't know about lengthy runs as a face or heel but there's been quite a few flopped turns in the past 3 years or so. Eddie Guerrero attempting to go heel again and Brock's recent face run come to mind off the bat.

Edge was a heel in the brood, but was also a heel during the "Edge & Christian" days of awsomeness. Even though they were cool with their 30-second poses and surfer-talk, they were still heels.

Stevie started his WWE run as a face, teaming with the Blue Meanie in 1999. When Meanie left WWE, Stevie was still a face and ripping off other wrestler's gimmicks (Stevie Love, Styna, Stelvis Presley). After returning from an ankle injury in 2000, Stevie started the Right To Censor and has been a heel ever since.

Christian has been a heel for ages. I don't recall him being face at any point since he and Edge won the tag-team titles for the first time in April 2000

Spike Dudley's been a face since he came in, which was March 2001.

Steven Richards has been heel since RTC started in July 2000.

Faarooq and Bradshaw have been faces since aproximately October 1999 I believe.... The "APA" gimmick allowed them to help heels, but maintain their face status. And from running down the rest of the roster, there's your winner!

Christian = longest running heel
Faarooq and Bradshaw = longest running faces

Wasn`t Faarooq (as Ron Simmons) supposed to be a heel during his incredibly brief & dull Velocity tag team run with D-Von last year?

I think Ron Simmons had a very brief heel run last fall with D-Von Dudley in their ill-fated tag team. I think for longest face runs, Tough Enough Bunch Kid Maven is third to Bradshaw and Spike Dudley.

A case could be made for Mick Foley and Linda/Shane McMahon, but they only pop in occasionally. If you want to get picky, Mick's been a face (I think) since he started doing comedy skits with Vince (Mr. Socko). Linda's never been a heel, and Shane's been a face since the Corporate Ministry split. Of course, odds are I'm horribly wrong.

Josh Beckett is God. If you don't believe me, ask the Yankees (or what's left of them after Georgie Porgie goes nuts).

I write for CSSA. You probably don't.

Vince's son was a heel during the WCW angle (I know, we all try to forget about them fucking up the easiest money angle ever, but it still has to count).

Now Edge and Christian were one of my favorite heel tag teams ever with all their antics but when they were in the brood they rocked pretty hard to. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the brood but the entrance music and with the ring of fire, the blood baths, I can go on and on I mean the rocked. Still they were even better when they were E&C but the brood did not suck.

Rey Mysterio Jr. has been a face during his whole WWE stint and as far back as I can remember seeing him in WCW. I'll go with Christian as the longest running heel. Also, when's the last time the Big Show was a face, right before the Royal Rumble angle with the Rock (2000, I think)?

-Trish/Lita vs. Vitamin C- Trish lays the bad mouth on Y2J, Y2J doesn't want to hear it so tags in Christian. Christian is more then happy to be in there & pushes Trish down to her corner. Tag to Lita who gets kneed the second she walks through the ropes....
