CAGE MATCH: LETHAL LOCKDOWN ADVANTAGE
Rob Van Dam vs. James Storm of Beer Money

RVD wins with the 5 Star Frog Splash.

XCAPE MATCH
Brian Kendrick vs. Homicide vs. Alex Shelley vs. Chris Sabin

Due to Douglas Williams being trapped in England, he's stripped of the title. The winner of this four-way will become the third man in the title match later tonight.

Homicide wins via escape after shaking hands with Kendrick and then double-crossing him.

STEEL CAGE
Kevin Nash vs. Eric Young

Nash wins with the Jackknife Powerbomb, then announces that he's Scott Hall's partner tonight, replacing the no-show Sean Waltman. BOOO TWICE

CAGE MATCH: ALL TITLES ON THE LINE
The Beautiful People vs Angelina Love and Tara

Madison Rayne pins Tara after a Lacey Von Erich beltshot. (Why didn't they lock the cage door?) MADISON RAYNE IS YOUR NEW KNOCKOUT CHAMPION. Well, it's a better choice than Sky or Von Erich, at least.

Tara goes heel on Love sfter the match.

STEEL CAGE: X CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Kazarian vs. Shannon Moore vs. Homicide

This is for the now-vacant X Division Championship. Kaz wins (!) with a back-to-belly inverted piledriver (!) on Homicide. KAZ IS YOUR NEW X CHAMPION.

CAGE MATCH
Team 3D vs Scott Hall & Kevin Nash

3D wins via Hall getting 3D'd through a table. Ugh, hopefully Hall follows Syxx-Pac out the door.

STEEL CAGE
Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson

Angle wins via escape through the door (over-the-top not allowed in this match -- although Angle did climb to the top of the cage -- AND THEN HE HIT A MOONSAULT).

Great storytelling here. Anderson's the loudmouth showoff who chickens out when things don't go his way; Angle wants to make Anderson pay for his transgressions no matter what. Everything in the match fed into this. At the end, Anderson was slithering out the door feet-first and Angle caught him and choked him out with his Warrior Medal -- NICE, as that medal has been in the middle of this whole feud. Angle then calmly and triumphantly stepped out of the cage over the supine Anderson, sprawled half in and half out, and gave him a nutstomp for good measure.

Match of the night, for sure, and TNA MATCH OF THE YEAR so far. Angle announced afterward that he's taking time off, and then coming back for the World Title.

STEEL CAGE: TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero vs champion "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Good match, but couldn't compare to the previous one. Styles wins after jamming a pen (stolen from a cameraman) into Dinero's face and then hitting the Styles Clash.

STEEL CAGE: LETHAL LOCKDOWN
Team Hogan: Abyss (captain), Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam vs. Team Flair: Sting (captain), Desmond Wolfe, Beer Money (James Storm & Robert Roode)

Big spot: Jeff Hardy jumps off a ladder through a table with James Storm on top. Oh, this was all on the ROOF OF THE CAGE.

Team Hogan wins after run-ins by Flair, Hogan, and Bischoff, who turned face (I guess) and gave Hogan brass knuckles, which he used on Flair, who then fell into a pile of thumbtacks.

Then -- totally as an afterthought -- Abyss Black Hole Slammed Wolfe for the pin. A real mess.

So-so PPV -- several good matches, several not-so-good, and a bunch of guys worked double -- but with a TREMENDOUS Angle / Anderson match.

Best Anderson Match ever and no surprise he had it with Angle. Angle really is The Bobby Orr or Sandy Koufax of Wrestling. He was signed by the WWE what in '98? He became a full time member of the roster in 1999 and has had more good to great and classic matches than guys that have been around for 20+ years. Great storytelling great match. Angle doing the moonsaulyt from the top of the cage was just crazy.Anderson deserves credit as well as he plays a great asshole Heel. I'm not real sure where he goes and who he feuds with next but he came out of the Match looking good. Pope cut a good promo before the Match that he really should have been allowed to cut weeks ago to sell the ppv.Pope Vs Styles was pretty good. That said, Styles flies around too much and has too many crowd pleasing spots for a heel. Rvd Vs Storm was pretty good too. X division Match was pretty good with an innovative finish. It sucks that Williams was stripped of the title. I hope we'll get a Williams-Kaz feud. If Syyxx-Pac isn't fired after no showing I dunno what to say. I don't dislike Eric Young like most I nothing him so him jobbing to Nash doesn't bother me. There are far more talented guys on the roster that should be pushed over him but he's Jarrett's buddy. The Lethal Lockdown Match wasn't bad but everyone became an afterthought after Hogan, Bisch and Flair got involved which sucks.

Glad to see that TNA put on a barnburner of a match with Angle and Anderson. And I'm glad to see Anderson justify the investment that TNA put in him. If he can put on a match like that with someone other than Angle, then I'll REALLY be impressed. For now, I'll definitely give him a round of applause. They also did a hell of a job of giving Angle a great send-off, which sets up a great ratings boost for the day he comes back.

I am, however, unspeakably ANGRY over Douglas Williams getting stripped of his title. Seriously? They're penalizing someone for a NATURAL DISASTER? What a load of garbage.

The definition of a turd sandwich? A 2010 Knockouts match placed between two Kevin Nash matches.

The main event was such a mess. There was no reason to end the show with that and not the Styles/Pope match other than to give screen time to the Hogan/Flair (a.k.a. Grumpy Old Men) storyline. And does anyone even care what side Bischoff's on?

Angle/Anderson and Styles/Pope sound like must-watch matches, but the rest of the show sounds like the usual garbage. Still, two great matches is two more than the last PPV, so that's a reason to feel encouraged.

Can we all just pretend that the stupid title-change-through-random-box-opening never happened, and Tara lost her title directly to Rayne when she was pinned by Rayne tonight? Thanks.

Kevin Nash working twice in one show. Scary thought at this point.

Why strip Williams of the title? I mean, people will understand why he's not there, right? Just have a number one contenders match, I'm thinking. It's not as though Williams is going to be gone for long.

Oh, well...sounds like the Angle/Anderson match was pretty awesome, anyway.

Well, if -- and I dunno one way or the other, and setting aside the question of whether or not losing a title is really being "penalized" -- if Williams was going to lose the title tonight anyway, it's not punishment at all. In fact, it sets up a neat feud between him and Kaz, where Williams can complain (and, as has recently been shown, Williams does his best mic work when he's complaining) that he lost the belt not just in a match where he wasn't pinned (which might have been the plan anyway, if Kaz had pinned Moore) but in a match that he wasn't even a part of! I'm looking forward to his bitter grievances already!

Also -- who knows how much this messes with TNA's prior plans, but I would think Williams is going to be absent from the next two weeks of Impacts as well, which might have affected their decision.

Wow, now that you mention it, Tara's going heel on Love afterward would've made a lot more sense that way, too.

But without the box opening ceremony, Tara would have never gotten the spider back!

Does Tara get along with ANYONE on this roster? Every time I read a match summary, I automatically expect for her to be brawling with the other faces afterwords. If shes gonna fight everybody, you might as well do the obvious thing and have her play either a sympathetic outcast from the WWE (I'm a wrestler, not a Diva) or an arrogant former Diva. It beats "Spider-lady with no last name" by a mile IMO.

That move description sounds awfully like the nasty Bull's Poseidon to me, which would be a true markout moment if it is. I had Douglas Williams winning this match, so I'm sticking to my guns and saying that he wins the belt back as soon as he gets back on Impact.

Just one question: what was all this doing on the damned roof of the cage? Talk about contrived.

That main event sounds like it blows and probably drags the show down by quite a bit. All I know is that Flair needs to stop blading and keep his shirt on at all times.

I'm waiting till I see Angle/Anderson in five days until I make any judgment on it. I heard everything from "TNA'S GREATEST MATCH EVARR!" and "Surefire MotY" to "above average at best" about this one. We shall see.

The wife and I bought it due to Fox running mostly re-runs tonight. I thought was one of the better PPVs of the year, wife remarked it was better then Mania which I am on the fence about. The X-Division match is not getting enough love. I thought that was the second best match of the night. Props go to those guys for having to adjust to a new person in the match as well as Homicide working double duty. He was channeling Eddie all night. Pope/AJ needed a few more minutes and a less stupid finish. AJ is my boy and all, but he needs to drop to the title soon and not to Abyss or Hogan. Feel bad for Pope getting screwd it what will probably be his last big PPV title match. Kurt/Anderson was a MOTY candidate, but beating Taker/HBK II, I don't know. Also, why do people get offended if there is more then one MOTY candidate? Its like getting pissed if we nominate more then one film for the oscars. Deal with the fact TNA has good wrestlers and who can deliver great matches. The lethal lockdown match was a mess til Hardy came out with the kendo stick and destroyed Beer Money. I also don't understand why people are upset Hogan and Flair got involved in this match. It was Team Hogan vs. Team Flair for christ's sakes. I am more shocked Bischoff didn't turn on Hogan.

All in all, I give the show a four out of five stars. Most of the bad matches were kept short and the right people went over, yes even in the Nash/Young match. They found a way to get MCMG on the PPV which sold it for the wife. She loves those crazy kids. The Knockouts are the new Horsmen and Love/Tara can be a hell of a feud. I know people are upset that Doug got stripped, but he can run the two X-Division belts like Shawn did going into WM X when he gets back. Also, maybe he should have stayed in the country the week before a PPV, just a thought. They were running promos all week in St.Louis and did their version of fan access. Unless, it was a family emergency then I completely understand. One last thing, shout out to the crowd. That is what a big event crowd should be like and it looked fairly packed.

That's exactly the point. In a match loaded with eight top-tier active wrestlers the finish was two sixty year-olds beating on each other and a fifty year-old non-wrestler doing a nonsensical double swerve. The finish was swallowed up in that nonsense. Once again a TNA PPV ends with Hulk Hogan beating up Ric Flair. Gee, I wonder what the big match is gonna be in a couple of months' time.

Ah well. At least it felt a little more like the old TNA(good wrestling, horrendous booking) as opposed to the more recent Hulk-run TNA(horrendous everything). Main event and a massive amount of the undercard was ass, though.

Gotta give the crowd last night major kudos as the were pretty hot most of the night. They really added to The Pope-Styles Match and gave it a big match feel. Last yeay Lockdown was in Philly and the crowd sucked and they only popped for the 90's stars and The Ecw guys. They crowd last night was really into The TNA guys as well as the older guys and the former WWE guys. TNA should run a Live Impact in STL one of the these days. I am sick of The fans at The Impactzone.

I thought that the match was pretty good, actually - you know it'd be overbooked but I thought that the bits before Hogan and Flair arrived were pretty good. As much as I love Flair, I just didn't see the point in him coming out. I also don't see why they needed to have Wolfe take the pinfall - maybe it's just me being crazy but it seems like that's all he does lately. Still, at least it was better then last months giant hole in the ring fiasco.

I thought that, while Pope vs. AJ was good, it suffered from having to follow Anderson vs. Angle though I'm not sure if there was any way that it could have been avoided since it would have happened anyway considering what the last three matches were.

Not that I have any desire to see the Band - I thought the match tonight with 3D was the best that we could have hoped for, honestly. I admit it was pretty good stuff, which is surprising since Syxx wasn't in it.

Angle is a crazy you-know-what. Between the moonsault-off-the-cage and the german-suplex-off-the-top-rope, this match was just amazing.

He probably meant the Knockouts have all the gold like the Horsemen did? But Evolution did that more recently so odd comparison either way.
