To update the rehash of an earlier thread, [Edit] this coming from the usually reliable Steve Beverly of tvgameshows.net:

The revival of Let's Make a Deal now has a premiere date and time slot. As of 12 noon Tuesday, the show still did not have a confirmed emcee.
Executive producer/creator Monty Hall told TVgameshows.net this morning Deal will premiere Jan. 18 in a Saturday-at-8 time slot for five weeks.
Hall said NBC had not told him as of noon on the East Coast if a deal had been reached with Today weathercaster Al Roker but said: "He is our top choice and, right now, he is our only choice." Hall added, "I don't know any more than you do but you'll be one of the first to know. We have to have a host soon because I need at least two weeks to work with him to go through the fine points of the show. NBC wanted us to start taping next week but I finally talked them into holding off until early January."
Hall, speaking from his L.A. office, said: "This is the vehicle for (Roker). There could be a lot of things going on....but to bring you the latest news, we were told we would know this morning if he's in and we still don't know."
The veteran emcee, who first launched the game in 1963, told TVgameshows. net he will make cameo appearances on the one-hour editions. "We have a neat vehicle where we're going to incorporate some of our old tapes and bring back some of the former contestants who lost out on a deal on the old show. That's where I come in," he said.

I'm not the happiest with the Saturday timeslot, but in our market, it would be leading out of weekend Wheel. The problem with this is that I see NBC hype the hell out of it on Today, but that will get you the 60+. Most game shows do. I'm happy it's at least on; don't be surprised if NBC decides to syndie the show if it does well -- they did it with Weakest Link.

If you read the article, you'll see that Hall is set on having Roker host; it's either going to be hit or miss. Roker getting the shot could be due to the fact of Game Show Week this year on Today. I still say Marc Summers should do it, but I'm biased, and he'll be hosting Wintuition on GSN starting next week anyway.

Dammit, where the hell is Peter Tomarken when you need him? And why hasn't he kicked the ass of that moron on "Whammy!" yet?

We need a double run-in: Peter and the OLD-SCHOOL Whammy chair-shotting these schmucks. Or better yet: Flokati rug beatdown!

Star wipe, and...we're out.

By the way Marc Summers will be the host of the new game show at GS Network called Win Tuition if based on the commercials they are running...i'm watching it just for him. Loved the show he hosted on the History Channel, hard as nails my friends.

History IQ was like an automatic 'must-watch' show for me. It took a bit to get used to Marc Summers as a serious game show host (if you've ever seen him hugged by slime-covered contestants on Double Dare, you'd understand my difficulty too), but he did the role really well. Now if I only got GSN.

Posted on the site today:

Is he in or is he out? A spokesperson for Monty Hall Productions said Wednesday, "Monty was told today (Today Show weathercaster) Al Roker is out altogether," as the host of the revival of Let's Make a Deal.
The source went on to say, "Of course, we've been told that before."

Ron Pearson could work in the slot if asked; he hosted Shopping Spree on USA IIRC, and he's going to host Casino on GSN in 2003.

I don't think that date earlier said is concrete, but you never know.

Cerebus, I and everyone I know are going to be at Freddy Vs. Jason on opening night. I don't care if it's the worst movie of all time, just seeing those two on screen at once would be a moment like seeing Donald and Daffy together in Roger Rabbit.
