They were already a WB affiliate but also programed UPN show meaning I had Smackdown after not getting it for two years after my FOX affiliate droped UPN as a second network.
I've been getting Smackdown in syndication for years on Thursdays and when it made the jump to Friday it moved to Saturdays.
So I'm guessing you can always hope for syndication CRZ. :-D

Like most others, it will probably become a My Network TV affiliate (if it's owned by Fox). KCOP 13 in L.A. is headed that way. I just hope it doesn't lose AMERICA'S TRASHIEST NEWSCAST (Get It On!). That needs to stay on the air for comedy value alone.

| #8 Posted on 29.3.06 2028.11 | Instant Rating: 5.12 | I get my TV stations from Green Bay. I'm 45 miles away, which is easily in range of most major network channels. But no matter how hard I try, I can't get WIWB, even though the FCC tells me I should be able to get the digital version http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=DT995126.html . So I guess unless they increase the power or something, I won't be getting Smackdown! once they switchover. WACY, currently the UPN affiliate, is switching to My Network, which means I guess I'll be able to get those telenovelas or something.
Here's wikipedia's list of My Network TV affiliates, if anyone's interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_My_Network_TV_affiliates
whatever, your WUAB is listed on there, but Gugs, your WSBK isn't yet.

Huh. Not seeing WCTX (New Haven UPN) on there or the My Network list. Wonder if the parent company's just going to fold it or if it'll go independent.

You are WRONG! WFTC was one of the initial My Network affiliates announced.
http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=29017
Signs continue to point to KMWB as the only logical choice remaining, but Sinclair must be dragging their heels...or The CW folks are feeling like since Sinclair runs so many My Network affiliates, they can wait and talk to them last.
Maybe Hubbard's trying to get in the mix? KSTC is still out there, and the dark horse could be the KSTP digital channel (which currently only seems to show news that at least two weeks old).
Extremely dark horse (to the point of "impossible it'll happen") is KARE gets it and replaces THEIR digital channel, but they've been hyping the "Weather+Plus" pretty hard.
I have to think given the choice between an existing over-the-air station and a digital station nobody knows about, they'd want to go with 23 or 45 first. But given that I've run zero television networks, my opinion should probably be taken with a grain of salt. ;-)
This has been YOUR Twin Cities local affiliate news for the day. Tell a friend!

This may have been after the analog channel was pulled, though. In any case, this will mean a lot more religious broadcasting, and if there is something we need more of in the USA it's Benny Hinn.
Where was I going with this...
Oh yeah. Just because your local has a weather channel, it doesn't mean they couldn't also pick up a digital channel as well.
I should research this more before talking out of my ass.

Yeah, you're right. For example, here's the list of channels my parents get over digital broadcast according to TitanTV.com (they're able to pull signals from both Green Bay and Milwaukee).
WBAY-HD ABC 2.1 (23) WBAY-WX ABC 2.2 (23) WTMJ-DT NBC 4.1 (28) Weather+ NBC 4.2 (28) WFRV-DT CBS 5.1 (39) WMVSDT PBS 10.1 (8) WMVTDT PBS 10.2 (8) MPTVKIDS PBS 10.3 (8) MPTVCRT PBS 10.4 (8) MPTVEX PBS 10.5 (8) NOAA PBS 10.6 (8) WPTVWRN PBS 10.7 (8) WLUKDT FOX 11.1 (51) WISN-DT ABC 12.1 (34) WGBADT NBC 26.1 (41) WACY-DT UPN 32.1 (59) MPTVHD PBS 36.1 (35) WPNEDT1 PBS 38.1 (42) WPNEDT2 PBS 38.2 (42) Create PBS 38.3 (42) i I 55.1 (40) PAX 55.2 (40) WORSHIP 55.3 (40) FAITH 55.4 (40) WDJT-HD CBS 58.1 (46) WMLW IND 58.2 (46)
How many subchannels are available depends on the quality of signal (HDTV, ETV, SDTV) that is being provided. For channel 10 (the PBS station out of Milwaukee), the first 4 subchannels are all normal channels showing different shows, while the last 3 have only audio. In reality, though, I think only the public broadcasting stations are using their subchannels to their full potential.

According to the FAQ on their site.
The affiliation change on Bostons WSBK-TV (Ch.38) will only affect the UPN programs that currently air weeknights from 8-10PM. These 10-hours-a-week of programming will be folded into the new CW network that will air on WLVI-TV 56 in Boston. What will air on Bostons WSBK-TV (Ch.38) in primetime this fall is being determined, and the WSBK-TV (Ch.38) team is busy at work on ideas. We have so many incredible opportunities to design a unique, custom, and localized program schedulealways keeping our viewers preferences top of mind. Well keep you posted on the fall programming plans. As far as the other shows on WSBK-TV (Ch.38) are concerned (the court block, the sitcoms, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, Dr. Phil, Phantom Gourmet, and all of the other viewer favorites), they will stay right where they are so you should stay right where you are: Bostons WSBK-TV (Ch.38)!
So it looks like they haven't figured out yet what they will be replacing UPN's lineup with, but everything else looks to be staying the same.
