You know, it'd really be great if Woody got some help from the REST of the offensive line sometimes. Yeeah.
Well, color me surprised. It appears the Benoit-style stubble goatee is doing wonders as Joey Harrington belts out 9 of 9 for 100 yards. Meanwhile Jeff Garcia lobs an interception. Hm.
Charles Rogers took hits without breaking something!
I'd like to know what happened to Boss Bailey and the defense in the off-season. It's probably just rust from injury recovery, but during the Jets big touchdown drive that took up the entire first quarter Bailey had a number of tackles that would've stemmed momentum but completely whiffed. The rest of the defense followed suit, allowing for gains to be had but still somehow being there to limit the gains to no more than 10 yards. What the hell? Shaun Rogers was quiet, and Big Daddy was able to cause one interception in between falling on his ass. Very confusing.
Harris is punting like a beast, thank god we have that position covered.
I won't comment on the play-calling as it's the pre-season and who cares, but Mooch still scares me sometimes.
We're the middle children of history...no purpose or place. We have no Great War, no Great Depression. Our great war, our defining crucible, is a spiritual war.
I think the people Lions fans were most curious about performed well. Joey Ballgame, Rogers, and both Williams did pretty well. The O-line is a HUGE concern, and the fork in Garcia's back is visible from miles away. There is NO doubt in my mind that Joey will be starting in week 1.
The only thing that concerns me is that none of the second- or third-stringers could put the ball in the end zone. C'mon, teams like the Pats don't need to worry about scoring in the pre-season, but the Lions need all the validation they can get - even if it's only in pre-season.
