You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.

As per ESPN.com (sports.espn.go.com)...

Smith and Cooper were on a 21-foot vessel that left Clearwater Pass for a fishing trip Saturday morning and did not return as expected, the Coast Guard said Sunday. Crews used a helicopter and a 47-foot boat to search a 750-square mile area west of Clearwater Pass on Sunday.

"We are in contact with the Coast guard and Corey's family has been informed," Smith's agent Ron Del Duca told ESPN.com's Bill Williamson. "Corey is one of the good guys out there. We're just waiting for more information and hoping for the best."

Troy Asmus, one of Cooper's agents, said he has been in contact with the NFL and that the league is aware of the situation.

"I have been in contact with the Coast Guard and they are continuing to work hard to find everyone," Asmus told Williamson. "We are hoping and praying for the best."

The latest:

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Coast Guard says it has found a person clinging to an overturned boat off Florida's Gulf Coast, but could not immediately confirm whether it is the same boat carrying NFL players Corey Smith, Marquis Cooper and two other men.

A source close to the situation, who spoke with ESPN.com's Bill Williamson, said the Coast Guard has secured Nick Schuyler, who was the person clinging to the boat. The search continues for the other people on board.

The St. Petersburg Times reported that Schuyler's family has been alerted by the Coast Guard and that Schuyler was found alive and is talking. Schuyler is en route to a Tampa-area hospital.

This is great news, but I hope it gets better soon.

This morning's update: the Coast Guard has called off the search.

As for Schuyler, he was indeed one of the four passengers on the missing boat, and told the Coast Guard that the boat was anchored when it was capsized. The four men put on life vests and huddled together for warmth, but eventually became separated.

Schuyler was found suffering from dehydration and hypothermia, but his condition was upgraded to fair on Tuesday. Through hospital officials, he has declined to speak to the media, and the Coast Guard hasn't had a more detailed conversation with him due to his current physical and mental state.

Everyone who's concerned by this part, raise your hand.

I know, floating around for days, dead tired, cold and hungry as hell, last thing he needs is a live camera and a mike stuck in his face, but am I the only person who read that and thought, "....if he can talk enough to say he doesn't want to talk to the press, why isn't he talking to the Coast Guard?"

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

What is he going to say that is time sensitive? Why not give the guy a few days - he's going to be affected by this for the rest of his life, to some degree.

Along those lines, what he told the Coast Guard may or may not have been while he was thinking completely straight:

Schuyler told Coast Guard investigators a strange story about the fate of the others, according to family members of two of the missing men. However, they said, given Schuyler's condition when rescued after two days on the sea in cold weather, he may have been delusional.

Schuyler told investigators that about two to four hours after their boat flipped in rough seas, one of the two National Football League players on board gave up hope and let himself be swept away, according to relatives briefed by the Coast Guard.

A few hours later, the second one did the same.

"We were told that Nick said the two NFL players took their life jackets off and drifted out to sea," said Bob Bleakley, whose son Will, 25, a former University of South Florida football player, is also still missing.

With former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Marquis Cooper, 26, and Corey Smith, 29, gone, only Schuyler and Will Bleakley remained clinging to the boat.

Then, sometime early Monday, Will Bleakley thought he saw a light in the distance. He decided to take off his life jacket and swim to it, hoping to get help, Bob Bleakley said Schuyler told the investigators.

"I think he was delusional to think he could swim someplace," Bob Bleakley said.

If that is what happened, how incredibly sad that they could have all been rescued. Reminds me of 'Deep Blue Sea' about just giving up due to physical and mental exhaustion.

You can certainly compare them talent wise. I don't know why none of you have even touched on the repeated point that USF does not have the same talent level of the other top teams. They just don't.
